MediaDigitalVideo: D4s and NO 4K recording ?

Those video lenses you are poo poohing have much lower transmission loss & are an order of quality that exceeds standard photography needs with manual focus only. Canon are doing this because they have a good collection of primes & zooms already.

On Red Giant offers subscription to video editing tools article (26 comments in total)

started paying for lightroom & photoshop very cheap $10/month more than happy with that. I like the subscription model updates just come through when available. Some of these exotic plugins for editing can be prohibitively expensive & a subscription is a lot easier on the pocket allow better cashflow management whilst maintaining the most recent updates

Have been using the M1 for a few weeks with 22mm nice combo amazing value, can't wait to order an leica m adapter. touch focus shoot is so intuitive. if your in to canon this is so cool & the price is crazy cheap. the 22mm lens is worth it on it's own. some random event shots with 22mm f2 no flash https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B5qwZ4l4jGOWa1pTcUYyTENEYnc&usp=sharing

On DxOMark tests Canon EOS 70D sensor and lenses article (133 comments in total)

Disappointing looks like my advice to friends if your buying aps-c stick with Nikon the camera, focus, lenses are of a higher quality. If you shoot prime lenses like me then buy the glass which in my case is 35L, 50L, 85L. Nikon don't have the goods there, any Canon FF body will do the shots will come out beautiful with no post production work needed. Perfect for the pro DSLR shooter looking for the best results with minimal effort.

jackpro: this is another option http://enlightphotopro.com/gear/the-orbis-ringflash/

the orbis is designed to minimise hotspot at flash connection point so sinister bottom lighting it is not - the rayflash advantage is it can take my 85L the orbis can't http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=EeUt9PF6jD0#t=162

A light Canon 6D with a 24-70 f2.8 will be the wedding shooters choice but sigma hit it out of the park with the pricing wow

cool - people are an interesting subject & as long as he maintains copyright via publishing a low volume coffee table book no harm done. it gets a bit dodgy when sites like dpreview promote the photog by publishing pics that it gets a bit nefarious.

///M: WOW, Canon can spend all this R&D on matched cinema lenses (which will likely be only sold to rental houses) for this niche market, but can't come up with a viable mirrorless camera with compact lenses, really? 1/2 of the DSLR sales in Japan are mirrorless cameras, it does not matter how small the crop sensor bodies get, they are still big and bulky compared to the micro 4/3 and other systems.

The video industry is a huge untapped market for Canon DSLR is declining as mirrorless rises. I think Canon as usual knows exactly where the money is.
