I just sent a long-awaited OMD EM5 back to Amazon because nothing happened after I charged the battery, put it in, and tried to turn on the camera. There was absolutely nothing on the screen, or any other indication that the camera was "On".
When I posted this in the review section of Amazon, a reply said I had to press a button on the side of the viewfinder to see anything in the screen. This is contrary to the manual, and the DP Review.
Does any of this make any sense to anyone out there???
Thanks for any insight.

I wonder if you folks could help me with a few questions about this camera.
1. When shooting video, and using the adapter that allows an external microphone, can you adjust the mic level manually? Or does the camera use an automatic mic gain function like on a point and shoot? (I read the manual but could not find the answer.)
2. It looks like you can exercise full manual control of exposure WHILE you are actually shooting video. Again, I couldn't find this explicitly in the manual. Anyone know for sure?
Thanks for your help.
