I don't upgrade every 2 years as I find old software works just fine.

If the lighting is artificial such as a street light the colors will be off because auto white balance is not accurate under those instances. Either choose a WB setting suitable to the lighting or...

I've been using this camera along with my A65 and A55 for 9 months now and all I can say is wow! Excellent in every way for a compact pocketable and a great companion for users of larger ICL...

You're a sucker Marques. A fool to fall for this.

Maybe I'm old fashioned but the idea of subscription/cloud computing turns me off so I'll stick with old fashioned software that I own forever and will NEVER GO THE CLOUD ROUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

How do you know that? He's a photographer not an engineer. Most pro photographers I've known don't know much about the technical aspects of a camera. I'm confident I know more than he does about...

Maybe this Kirk Tuck character doesn't know what he's talking about. He's a photographer and he has a blog but that doesn't make him an expert on testing cameras.

It's all about money. The A77 is a better camera in almost every way than the A57 and aside from the viewfinder it appears that the A57 is a bit better than the A58. If you can afford it get the...

Yes both OVF and EVF have advantages and disadvantages. In bright sun I wear a baseball cap to block the sun's rays so I have little problem using the EVF with darkened glasses.

I do not believe that the A58 sensor is better but the differences you see are due to differences in JPG processing. It appears to me that the A58 applies more noise reduction resulting in a less...

I agree. The 75-300 worked fairly well with my old A100 (other than frequent focusing errors) but as I moved to the 16mp A55 and then the 24mp A65 it's shortcomings became obvious.

Of the lenses you list I can comment only on the Tamron 70-300 USD which IMO is an excellent lens with low CA and consistent sharpness throughout it's range.
The Sony 75-300 is not a G lens and is...

I have been wearing transition glasses exclusively for about 15 years. They do not effect my perception of the white balance at all, probably because I am used to them, but they obviously make the...

Very well put and in addition how important are differences that need to be examined at extreme magnifications to be visible in the grand scheme of things.

Check out this Comparator (http://www.imaging-resource.com/IMCOMP/COMPS01.HTM)
At ISO 400 (the setting I use most of the time) they look virtually the same other than the fact the A65 photos are...

It's posts like this that keeps me from posting in this forum much any more. Many people here aren't photographers but instead spend all their time examining their photos at high magnification in...
