Michael, thank you so much for providing the links. I never had the chance to download these even though I already have the complete collection (for Lightroom) for almost a year.

That's why I have to remember to always have extra cards with me in case I am taking more shots than I thought I would. To be honest, this 'bug' doesn't bother me too much, it's nice to have more...

I use the Sandisk CF 16GB in my D800, and it shows 200 shoots (1/2 of the 400 shoots on your 32GB). (I don't use the SD card on the second slot) I also shoot RAW lossless compressed; but in all...

Unless my eyes deceived me, based on these samples, it looks to me that the 'softness' on the f/1.8 is simply a matter of shallower depth of field, which is to be expected. The pencil basket looks...

I don't have the Samyang, but I have a Nikkor 55mm f/2.8 AI-S Micro that is not chipped. I can tell you that on my D800, the focus confirmation still works, and the meter still reads correctly....

Agree with everything Rich said. I was faced with the same problem when I got my D800 back in June last year, I was moving from a D200 (quite a jump!), and my 'walk around' lens was an 18-200mm...

If you used ACR extensively in CS3, the learning curve on PP for LR4 would be negligible for you. Other than some differences in the interface, everything else is just about the same. The one...

I had the same problem back last April. In my case, I found out that I had bent a few pins on the CPU socket on the motherboard. It happened when I was installing the CPU fan cooler - I moved it...

If you download the latest update for CS5, the ACR 6.7 will definitely process NEF files from D800, I know because I have both before I upgraded to the CS6.

I switched to Nikon from Canon back in the 90s when they switched the lens mount from FD to EOS!

I have a 17-35mm AF-S that also squeaks. I have read that this is a common problem with this lens, I am not sure if it's because the lens was used often enough.I did ask APS when I was sending...

That was exactly my experience. I usually went to the butterfly house with my camera club first thing in the morning, and the butterflies were not too active. I used the 200 f4 in the afternoon...

I have used the 28-105 macro on my D800 as my 'walk around' lens before I got the 24-120mm f/4. It was a pretty sharp lens, I am sure it will do the same on a D600.

I will get the lens early next week. I will try it out probably next weekend, and I may have to resign myself to at least use a monopod with the lens. As I said in my earlier post, I never had...

I bought the Nikon 200mm f/4 Micro last month, but I returned it. Basically I think I would have to use a tripod to use it, I was having trouble getting a good sharp focus on my D800. I was...

Beware that you can't AF with it though: http://www.nikonusa.com/en_INC/IMG/Assets/Common-Assets/Images/Teleconverter-Compatibility/en_US_Comp_chart.html

I feel your pain. i built a new PC back in April using the i7 2600k (the predecessor to the i7 3770k that came out about a month after I finished building mine) with 16GB RAM and an nVidia...

Before getting the 24-120mm f/4, I was using the 28-105mm f3.5-4.5 Micro on my D800. Except for the wider 24mm and longer 120mm, functionally the 2 lenses are no different. I actually like the...

Glenn:With exposure of 30 seconds, I assume they let you use tripods in the caverns? That's pretty accommodating for us photographers.I used to live in El Paso, but moved from there more than 20...

Some of these extension tubes are made of cheap plastics that are not too strong. I have heard of accidents where the tube broke and the whole thing including the lens dropped to the ground!
