Here in Europe le price of the FZ200 continue to lower slightly to reach the level of the FZ70 (only 25$ difference). That should indicate that the new model is near. August is not yet finished.

Personnaly, i doubt it. Sony will enter the all mirrorless era this fall and AF adjustment will be a thing of the past for them. The translucent era was the in-between phase and it ends this year.

This year, FZ200 successor seems to be a little late. Expanding the zoom on the wide angle like on the new FZ70 would be interesting (and less complicated to do).

In France there have been infos about the name of the first-class bridge: It will be called FZ280. There are no leaks about the features for now.
My guesses:
- slightly extended zoom 24-720 mm eq....

In the late seventies, there was the famous Minolta Rokkor RF250mm/5.6 that had the size of a 50mm/1.4 even if it was for ff. Very useful for war zone photography.
