Sounds like Canon's direct answer to Sony's RX100; with a lurking idea on Nikon's Coolpix A, Ricoh's GR 2013... and certainly Fuji's purported X-M1 too. Exciting times.
Edit: this rumour seems...

Interesting.
From these samples, the Zeiss are either overpriced or it's the Fuji that are underpriced.Still, it's not that bad. I mean we now know there's a viable, albeit costly, 12mm solution...

Eh, it's just that to us compulsive shooters the photo opportunities happen to present themselves before our eyes, and we can't help but have a camera handy to capture them.
Which reminds me of...

Montmartre... the 2nd shot is really nice.

Welcome here, friend.
Well, it's up to you. The camera does what you tell it to do, the camera doesn't decide which picture to take.Which means that you should work on your self-control, assess...

Good thread.
I was close to buying the RX100 as it appears to be a quite unique performer, but was still hesitating with small system cameras.
And one of the reasons that made me hesitate, albeit a...

I could perfectly see them team up with Panasonic and design a custom chip, or order it to a company like CMOSIS, and then use Panasonic's factories or third-party factories like TSMC.
That's a...

Sony managed to come up with a 1" sized 20mp sensor and a nice overall result... so give that m43 is quite bigger, I wouldn't worry about m43s getting 20-24mp sensors hand producing good pictures...

Are you seriously calling GOOGLE to your rescue?

That may very well prove to be a bad strategy in the long run, if people are happy with the competition - which will be reinforced in by these migrations and thus will become tougher to compete with.

No because there’s a limit to the miniaturisation of a body when lenses can’t be downsized.
But what I do want is the controls of the E-P5 on a PL or PM body.

It is; for the equipment is part of the "equipment/photographer mismatch" equation.
And before you tell that the prospective photographer simply had to do more research about his potential...

And so is yours. Blah blah blah stop focusing on gear and go take pics blah blah... really helpful, thanks.
People make mistakes witht heir equipme because there are many options to chose from, and...

Oh my...
The only good news with that rumour is the rumour in itself, i.e. something about the RX100's replacement.

It's a delight to see that Fuji has chosen to finally bring back the aperture ring on lenses. I've never really gotten along well with digital system cameras for they usually chose to forego...

This is both a habit from the cameras I've used and a convenience, since there's slightly less chance to miss an action whilst changing the settings.
Err... because I want to set the aperture? I...

Strongly leaning towards the RX100 which is still the winner in terms of versatility – but closely looking at the Coolpix A and the new GR.
If only the GR had a 35mm lens and the ability to set the...
