I recently upgraded from a 30D to 6D and have actually really enjoyed using a 11 - 16mm f/2.8 Tokina, even though it is designed for APS-C it is EF mount so just has major (i.e fisheye type)...

I'm sure it was Wally when I was growing up, was Waldo his American brother?

Wonderful landscape... I've been itching for a trip down recently, approx 2 1/2 hrs drive from us and weather has been so overcast recently.. unfortunately the few nice days I have been working...

FWIW I bought the 50mm f/1.8 (because it was cheap) as a new DSLR user a few years ago to go alongside a 17 - 85mm IS and a 70 - 300mm IS, and whilst its uses are a little more limited depending on...

FWIW I have used the same Hoya Pro 1 on my main walkaround lens for years now and have had no issues, wouldn't (and couldn't afford) RRP but Amazon usually has some good deals. I don't leave it...

Doesn't quite fit exactly what you want, but consider the 50mm f1.8 for lightness and cheapness (in addition to, rather than instead of your zoom) or a more expensive but wider prime.

In that case, ignore a lot of my post - if it is not your first DSLR you will have a MUCH better idea of what you need and what you want, and it is much better putting your money into quality kit...

I have been cropping and/or stitching some images in Photoshop Elements with my current lens at 17mm already - a CPL is ordered and should be here at the same time as the lens, I already use a CPL...

I have just ordered a Tokina 11 - 16mm f2.8 after a long decision making process, should arrive next week so will let you know what I think! I spent a lot of last year travelling and the widest I...

Depending on your starting point in terms of experience and budget I would advise to get the cheapest DSLR body (new or second hand), anything released in the last 5 years would be fine, and the...

Not directly related to question but would strongly recommend a 50mm f/1.8 as a wonderful and cheap introduction to prime lenses and wide apertures. We were in a similar situation a little while...

Just to add I think my smaller Crumpler is unavailable now as limited edition but the cupcake slim is almost identical.

Took my 30D (2006) around the world last year and performed admirably, am going to get the new mirrorless Canon M body to become my main camera soon for size and weight reasons, but will be keeping...

Love this lens, have taken most of my favourite photos with it and it is the one most likely to be found on my DSLR. Having said that, its a bit soft wide open and after a couple of years the AF...

I was initially disappointed with this lens, and bought it too early on my SLR learning curve. With hindsight and I wasn't getting the best from it and with those lessons learnt I now love this...

Everybody should own (or should have previously owned) this lens. Fantastic images from a dirt cheap lens. Yes you can get better but you have to pay ££££, this is a perfect lens in addition to a...

Excellent all rounder in a compact body. I use mainly as a back up to my DSLR and for when the full kit won't fit. Great zoom reach and very usable (just don't creep into the digital zoom!), good...

In the last few days I have decided for sure to get the Canon M, the size is a BIG factor! I'm gonna wait until the new year and hope for a price drop before the current UK rebate scheme ends, but...
