I had to look it up, according to Wikipedia: Birds (class Aves) are feathered, winged, bipedal, endothermic (warm-blooded), egg-laying, vertebrate animals

For what it is worth -

Definition of Light Painting:
A 'light painting' digital photograph is created by the movement of a light or lights, using a slow camera shutter speed, to create a image. Because this type of photography requires a long exposure (typically from one second to ten seconds), it is usually done at night or in an unlighted room.
While light painting effects can be simulated with Adobe PhotoShop or other image editing program, light painting is an in-camera photography effect and not achieved through computer manipulation of the image. The effects possible with this purely photographic technique are unlimited and a new area for experimentation now that they are much easier to work with in digital photography.

Maybe get a really long lens. I do agree with earlier comments on time constraints.

Some nice photos going to be disqualified because they have no border/title... Mike, I know it is your challenge but most of the photos would look better w/o a border... JMHO, of course.

Appreciate it if the host could clarify the rules a tad. It seems that most of the entries so far are attached to buildings by ploes and therefor should be DQd. Even the example could be DQd because it is impossible to tell if it on a pole at all or just attached to a building, which is what I suspect to be the case.

Just an observation for the host; 38 doesn't divide by 3 evenly so someone could get short changed... This assumes, of course, that all entrants want to post 3 photos..

Rules seem too restrictive, by this I mean even the example given by the host could be attached to a building and DQable (is that a word?). You just can't tell. It also seems that many of the other entries are attached to buildings (by there poles) and therefore should be DQ'd.

Could/would the host please clarify the rules some?

Seems not many folk read the rules for this one. Something I have been guilty of, on occassion.

jpmalohesr: Anyone notice that the reflection is showing the top of the bird not the bottom. I would say great photoshopping, not great capture...

Didi the mirror check and have to withdraw my original comment, sorry. Guess I get to eat some humble pie...

Nice looking models, what is it they are modeling, though, is another question, and seems to violate the rules for the challenge..
