On The big beast: hands on with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX8 article (1229 comments in total)

I personally love tilt screens! The flip out screens are annoying and detract from usability.

On Canon introduces 430EX III-RT Speedlite article (93 comments in total)

I just used the 600EX-RT tonight for a photo shoot. The radio trigger functionality is a must and just works! Nikon's flashes are built well and light well, but the line of site for TTL functionality is annoying.

Fooled me once Leica - I know they are lying about the specs. This is gonna be just like the 113. Overpriced and plasticky. I wrote my review of the 113 below, this lens appears to be much of he same and is really an f/2.8.

Don't believe? Just watch!

dtphoto: If no folders are permitted, does that mean I'm limited to 9,999 images...until my camera's counter rolls over?

Folders are permitted. I'm copying my entire lightroom catalog with videos and everything up there. I initially had the free one with prime. It recognized and allowed raw files form Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Fuji, Canon, and Leica (nooooo issues at all). I just upgraded to the everything so I can store all of my uncompressed video. It's awesome and free to try.

Awesome, but... It's not compatible (for free anyways) with my Fuji and Olympus raw files - boooooooooo. Maybe they'll get an update for this.

Also, I can't share everything all at once like Flickr.

Still, it's good for my wife to backup her iphone.

Aroart: canon...wake up....

Funny thing about this. I'm still OK shooting my 5D3 for video with cinestyle. When there's a real option for a High Efficiency Video Codec (HEVC) for 4k distribution and exporting from FCPX or Premiere, then I'll invest in 4k. Oh yeah, and I'll need a monitor that supports it natively. I'm sure Canon will eventually have it and an EVF option to boot. No need to dump all of your Canon gear, lenses, or equipment just yet.

maxnimo: All jokes aside, I'd love to see this lens tested side by side with a Fujinon XF 56mm F1.2 R prime.

In have a fuji 56mm lens. It's nice, but the bokeh isn't as nice as my canon 85. Assuming the zeiss is better than both, I would say no comparison.

MisoL: When we can expect Linux version? Canon, please wake up! The only RAW processor choice, Linux users have is Corel AftershotPro and it takes them many months to support new cameras (lost sales for you in Linux users). Free software like Darktable and RawTherapee is faster in supporting new cameras, but it's usability is not as mature yet.

Linux? Lol! That's not the future!
