In my opinion, you'd have earned the 1st place in the challenge. There is so much to love about this shot: the light, the composition, the contrast between the cyclist and the moving masses, the curved border lines. Even though the people were probably in a hurry to get to or get home from work (light suggests it's morning or evening), the cyclist and the almost quadratic format give it a feeling of tranquility. Once again, congratulations on this wonderful photo.

> congrat. the background and foreground blur looks unnatural to me
thanks. the lens was used at its longest focal length (200mm) and fully open (f2.8) on a full format camera. therefore, the depth of field is very thin and the (pretty near) foreground and the background may seem unusually blurred. also, the bokeh of this sigma lens is probably not as nice and creamy as you may find it with canon lenses and may make it look unnatural. in any case, the blur was not artificially added/increased.

Great shot. It really stands out from the crowd. I love the light and mood you captured.

Great shot. My favourite in the competition. I could look at it for hours.

Hi,
thanks for your nice words. It was really a once in holiday situation and I'm glad I got the shot.
All the best,
