I have the Fuji X-E1 with the 18-55 lens and I would say itwould be a perfect combinations to cover  most situations.Venice is a magical place and please don't forget to make useof the monochrome...

Never had my on/off switch turn on or off without a deffinate action by me.It is a very good switch.

How about wrapping them in a clean sock? Then putting them safely in the bag.Or,  as an alternative, I have used a paper kitchen towel wrapping the batteriesup, parcel fashion, then a rubber band...

Thanks for that Albertin - I have a Fuji X-E1 with the 18-55 kit lens and this morning I bought the Cannon 500Dand wondered if I should buy the 250D also. I love macro photography.Philip.
