I bought one of the original RX10's to use at a wedding recently to avoid too much lens changing. fortunately it was just over £500 from Amazon France. It does a job, but nowhere near the quality of my Nex6 (though sadly there's no f2.8 zoom lenses for the nex!)...but nice and quiet compared to the ker-lunk of the nex....but I agree with the others, I'd be disappointed had I paid £1300 for it!! If they could squeeze an APS-C sensor in, it really would bea different story.
Mr Graphic: No EVF! I need this for serious, creative photograpy, especially in direct sun light. Why do people buy cameras that have only an LCD?!I have a Sony RX-10 for serious work, and a wonderful little RX-100 (original) for backup and a handy camera to carry around, but find it too difficult to get full use out of it since it has no EVF. And the newer RX-100 Mk2 is too expensive.
The problem i found with my nex 5t was that using lenses like the 35mm f1.8relatively close it was difficult to measure depth of field using just the lcd, especially outdoors. Compacts don't have this DoF issue as much so an lcd is fine. I moved over to a nex 6 and can now see why people like the evf!
Hopefully the TX20 has eradicated the 6 second delay you get with the TX10 when you press the video record button! That's a major failing with the TX10 which I was amazed made it through the QA process.
One thing that struck me is motion jpeg for the movie format, 1080p recordings in that format will be pretty enormous!
