On Sigma announces two 150-600mm F/5-6.3 DG OS HSM zooms article (137 comments in total)
In reply to:

brelip: oh, and great job Sigma. Though i do wish the C is APSC only to save more weight...

why not? look at the weight of 50-300 DX vs 70-300 FX, or 55-250 EFS vs 70-300 EF.

interesting for sure, but a lens no one is asking for! They should have made this a DX and half the weight and cost!

In reply to:

brelip: Both have sealing. But the C is listed not to have sealing?

Thanks for clarification. The first paragraph seems to suggest they're sealed the same way.

"Both versions are dust and splash-proof, and both boast new versions of Sigma's OS optical image stabilization system. Under the hood though, their construction is significantly different."

If nikon calls this D6xx, everyone would be happy.

dpreview kept referring D750 closer to spec of D810 than D610. This is a joke. Stop kidding yourself. This is D620. The body style is completely different than pro Nikon's. Build quality different. Sensor different. only 1/4000 shutter. No pro cameras would have 1/4000, period.

On Pentax announces Q7 with larger 12MP BSI CMOS sensor article (232 comments in total)
In reply to:

Gary Martin: Offer a wide prime and I'm interested.

If they do, it would have to be much wider than 28mm. Because Ricoh already offers 2 compacts w/ 28mm. Ricoh also offers an adapter that will give you 21mm.

I seriously doubt they will offer any add'l lenses for Q anytime soon.

FBreview: It's a pity to read all these critics only based on the specifics. If the interest of a camera was based on those facts, what could be said about a M9?

Once a deep review will reveal the amazing IQ provided by an expert-like-controllable-pocketable camera,I hope we'll laugh at this wave of grumpy photographers.

And if this first shot from Nikon is not the perfect tool, we can see clearly that the whole market is on the way we all wish: an affordable "reflex IQ" in your pocket. Just a matter of -short- time. So why complaining that much?

The ricoh is very different.People love ricohs not because of IQ, but control layout. This coolpix will be the opposite.

plasnu: In Japan, Sigma has just started cash back campaign for $250-600 for any who currently owns any sigma digital camera. If you own DP2 Merrill, you can buy DP3 Merrill for about $550.

sigma marketing is just weird.

In reply to:

Professor999: This news is more recent than Nikon's (check the time stamp).
Question, Why is this article pushed down the list?
I almost missed it.
Normally articles are posted chronologically.
Am I missing something?

It may seem that way, but news are not posted chronologically.

There's definitely hints of Ricoh on this camera. The power button lights up in green!

Alizarine: General consensus seems to be:

If it's a Pentax, shoot it down. I really don't get the mindset of some people.

If Pentax were to make the exact same cameras as Canon, Nikon, Sony, on one would buy them. They have to be different.

There are cameras that exist to meet a need, then there are cameras exist to inspire process of photography. This camera is more of a latter than the former, unlike RX100. Sure, with 1inch sensor would make it better, but it's too early, wait till 2014-2015.

The camera's placement of controls reminds me of Olympus OM-D E-M5 and even E-5. Record button on top, compensation dial, wheel on back, and direction controls on back instead of wheel. I like it.
