Here's link to US registration page. You simply have to provide S/N, date of purchase etc. You did buy the GR in the US so your GR will be covered. http://www.us.ricoh-imaging.com/support/register- ...

If you're in the US and bought it from one of those online shops in Brooklyn, there's a very high probability it's grey market:) However, there's no functional difference with the camera. Cheers, Ned
  • Glad it was helpful, Doug. Hope you enjoy shooting with your GR! Ned
  • My pleasure, Steve! I find many items that sell for more than their actual value on eBay. Not sure why... impatient and uninformed buyers:) Cheers, Ned
  • Hi Soheil, Amusing in looking back how we thought 512k or the likes was really big:) Cheers, Ned
  • Hi Steve, Sorry, guess I wasn't clear. I had sent my original VF-2 in for service and got a "replacement" unit for $140. I know Adorama in NYC was selling them for $219 recently. Not sure if ...
  • You're right the CF cards would allow me to use the PS 600...if I could only find the batteries and charger :) When the cards first came out circa '95 they were pricey...$100 per mb if I ...
  • LOL, those are CF cards that came with the PS 600 in 1996. They are "megabyte" cards so other than being nice artifacts from the past they're not worth much :)
  • I had a similar problem with my VF-2 a year ago. Admittedly it was partly my fault...the hinge got stuck in the vertical position and in trying to close it I must have pinched the cable. Ricoh ...
  • Thanks Sabud, I probably will borrow it. Although I've been using the GR since last May, and with the sharpness of the lens and superb RAW files, my Pentax K-5 IIs and K-3 have been gathering ...
  • Hi Gordon, Just to confirm...the .frm file (like I showed in my screen shot) is on your SD card? Reason I ask...if you've clicked on "Confirm Firmware Version" and only see your current FW version ...
  • - Pentax K-1000 - Pentax LX - Leica M4 - Leica M3 - Kodak 2D 8x10 (circa 1890) :) - Quite a few early Leitz, Pentax and Takumar lenses And a few that I have photos of: Film predecessor to my ...
  • Thanks for sharing, nice images! Especially like the B&Ws. How do you like the X-T1. A dealer friend has one he said I can borrow to try out. However, I'm afraid I'll like it and then have another ...
  • Gordon, I'm on OSX 10.9.4 but process will be same for you. Download v4.0 from Ricoh's support site. It does not come in a zip file, but will simply place the ".frm" file in your Mac downloads ...
  • True, but my post was about the 600 being their first "PowerShot" camera:) http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/camera/dcc/data/1995-2000/1996_ps-30.html?lang=us&categ=crn&page=1995-2000
  • Let's hope in 20 yrs Fuji is still making "cameras" or whatever we call the devices by then :)
  • I remember that CoolPix and the swivel lens part. I think it's resolution was around 600kb which at the time was on par with the PowerShot. Cheers, Ned
  • Glad you liked this. Still trying to find the batteries which I know are in one of my many boxes to see if it powers up:)
  • Hi Marco, Yes, originally the flash cards were quite expensive, but you've got your decimal in the wrong spot...initially some were priced at $100 per mb. The cards in my photo aren't worth much ...
  • The "PowerShot" brand name was introduced with the launch of the PowerShot 600 in 1996. As you know it's grown to represent a broad line of consumer and prosumer grade digital cameras. It was ...
