  • Like Yakosmurf I have the Kenko1.4 and it connects, AF in good light but I reckon the cropped image without the TC is a bit better - and you don't have the hassle of changing lenses, small...
  • I tend to keep many more photos than I should - I never seem to have the time to edit properly ie I'm lazy and disk space is cheap. I use SSD for C drive, just programmes and some data closely...
  • Printing 8x10 is easier if you stay in Qimage.  Ensure your paper size (8.5x11) is selected in the Page/Print setup - under File tab, top left. Rt click the specimen page on the right of the main...
  • If you go to the Qimage home page http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage-u/ there is a tab for videos. they are excellent. You might find that the one on Print drivers and ICC profiles answers your...

  • I too have been looking for an All in one for when my current (ancient) laser's toner finishes.  I'm reckoning on a Brother MFC9140 but I haven't found any proper reviews on it.  It looks...
  • Reputable battery manufacturers are putting a lot of work into the safety of their batteries so that they resist heating , resist short circuiting and don't readily explode.  ie buy a cheap fake or...
  • Replied in Safari camera
I can't guide you to a specific camera but in general terms if you have a max focal length 400-500mm equiv that is perfectly adequate. Image stabilisation would be a decided advantage at those...
  • Helen Pilcher wrote an article in the New Scientist of 30 Dec 2013 outlining the history of photographing snowflakes.  She mentions names such as Bentley (about 1880-1890), Neuhaus and more...

  • Many of these cheaper batteries do not hold their charges well and their capacity reduces much faster than Sony batteries - though I can't speak for Vivitar.  nb I did buy a Uniroyal battery a year...
  • Replied in Disable AHCI
I replaced a conventional hard drive with SSD as the main boot drive.  I omitted to activate AHCI in Bios and couldn't get the SSD to function properly.  I consulted this forum and got excellent...

  • I have Silkypix Studio Pro V4 and have used Silkypix for a good many years - IMHO it's exceptional in handling and adjusting colours but, as you say, it's gui is not easy.  When I bought it was on...

  • I can't comment on your specific TCs and lens combinations but in general 2xTCs rarely provide an advantage over a cropped image without TC.  A 1.4xTC doesn't really give much focal length benefit...
  • Tony has given you very good advice in his posts.  I'm glad you are getting the 70-400 - you won't regret it.  I wonder about the 1.4TC.  I have the Kenko Pro300 1.4TC but although it connects up...
  • Replied in Qimage problem
Bill If you've missed the newer forum link you might have missed other changes too. the Qimage website is at http://www.ddisoftware.com and you'll find a host of excellent instructional videos, a...
  • I have been fortunate enough to have been on several safaris - in Africa and elsewhere. As others have implied/said, you need to avoid changing lenses on the hoof.  It's dusty and a b***** nuisance...
  • Dyxum has a nice section explaining why Sony TCs are so lens specific.  So, if you look at that and the structure of the Tamron and Sigma you could probably work it out.  I hope you didn't buy the...
