How can we know what meets your requirements For zoom and tele? It is what it is. I would rather have 24mm to 500mm but Canon is trying to make the camera fit in pockets and in a price range...

If you be looking for one.

I would stick to the G10. I owned one and it images were very good.Upgrade when you need to do so.
-
I does make a difference in getting a shot or not at times. The G16 is really faster and to some it will make a huge difference.
-
I thought so, too. It was a medium compression jpeg.
Main difference I see with the 15 and 16 is everything is faster on the 16. You always hera about faster P&S focusing, but the 16 is truely...

My red cat would take exception to your preference for a brick wall!:-P

I though the G16 did quite well.
The faster focusing put a smile on my face!

It is not as fast as my DSLR but it is MUCH faster than any other P&S that I have ever owned.
Everything is quicker including startup and shut down. Quality of build is excellent just like the...

Not wanted or needed for my use.
My G16 is slim and light. Great image quality and focusing is on steroids compared to my G15.
-
I must say that it is quite "snappy" as it fires up ready to shoot way faster than the G15. It also focuses MUCH faster. Not as fast as my DSLR but it is sure getting closer!
All I can say is WOW...

Roberts Camera shipped yesterday and the new toy arrives today. It will be replacing my G15 if found to be worthy. All I ask is an incremental increase in overall speed. It will join my G1X in my...

Do not know if there will be a G2X but would very much like there to be.
Digital camera sales are down so it would surprise me, but who knows.
-
Anyway you could post it.

It is really the larger pixels, less crowded on the larger sensor that give the G1X such impressive low light capability. Tiny sensors, packed onto smaller sensor equal noise at higher ISO....
-
less crowded pixels mean better low light performance. It mean you can crank up the ISO and still have less noise! Not to mention the lens is simply outstanding!
-
and will likely get the G16 when it arrives.
But the G1X, being "old hardware" is still quite a respectable piece of hardware.

and yes I saw your smiley face.
