Rishi Sanyal: To everyone wondering what the advantages of the improved sensors (mainly faster sensor readout) are - aside from the obvious: 4K and high fps stills and video - please wait for a sneak peak at this camera's AF tracking capabilities in continuous AF. We'll publish a quick look that I think may turn some heads.
when u use "" u should to use exact version of copy paste. It means not "Big Promises" but "big promises". maybe u didnt read claims of sony of supa dupa tech in new sensor making output less noisy. So now u and me can make big LOL on your reaction ;)
well, high fps and video is a nice but not so important. why i need 15 or so fps when i have 10 +-? this is only quantitative and nice looking on the paper but without real usage. well, maybe 1% will enjoy this. But whats important for all is the real image quality. There were big promises and in the reality nothing happened in this aspect.
panoDirk: To get premium prices for adding 4K video, Sony launched new models (RX100 IV and RX10 II) with a "revolutionary new" sensor as excuse to cash it to the max. It's marketing strategy not technology.
Totaly agree. well, higher res evf is a nice thing but not enough for that price. 4k... well, still missing hw for this and when me and all others will have, there will be mark v i am sure...
In my eyes noise looks worse with rx iv. any advantage, only higher price. sad.
I think, these pics are jpegs, not raws. All jpegs are mushy and relatively low quality. Well there are some cameras with better, some worse jpeg engine. I dont care about jpeg output, only raw interests me.
