Hi,
Don't worry, that's normal on the D700 at High ISOs.
It's some sort of amplifying glow, and many cameras are prone to that.
The D700 is not free from it, unfortunately.
The positive thing is...

Hi D,
Wow, I feel humbled by so many kind words! I really don't think I deserve them, but thanks a lot anyway!
I feel truly honored, really, really thanks! :D
I completely understand what you're...

Hi D,
Really, really thanks for your kind words and for taking my rant in a positive way. Thanks a lot!
I do not critique photos too often (in fact almost never do), because I'm terrible at doing...

What you have wrote, and what I'm about to write is the kind of sincerity that's often needed (sometimes crucial), but is also never welcomed.
It just makes us unpopular.
It seems a...

I'm going the opposite direction of the previous posters and just say "embrace shadows".
You see, when you read too much technical photo stuff, you'll end up believing a wide range of tones within...

I don't want to rain on your parade (or anyone else's), but I still find it amazing how Nikon suddenly put a bunch of extra pixels, and the hability to save poor shots (lift shadows by 5 stops),...

I have never bought a refurbished unit, so cannot tell for sure...
But last time I was at my local camera store, the guy said any refurbished units have a little dot, a small and subtle mark next...

Woodlink, I see what you mean. It's easier to build a strong portfolio if a trip to Iceland, a chat with Steven Spielberg and a 80mp Phase One costs you literally nothing. I know sure, it's...

Yeah, I agree it's an artistic choice, and I'm a sucker for shallow DOF too.
I tend to shoot everything wide open whenever I can (99% of the time).
The problem I see is not with your shots, but...

Sorry, but the first 2 shots and the last one show terrible bokeh. Simply terrible, and I'm a die hard Leica fan.
There's an OOF "curvature", a circular rendering in the bokeh.
Just look how it...

Superb idea
Most thieves (I guess more than 90%) would be totally unprepared for this, as they would be totally unaware of camera features.
Bingo, you get your camera back, and the bad element...

Hi,
I usually shoot in the field, and it'd be nice if my clients could see the shots in real time on an Ipad, in the field.
I've considered the D4 + WT-5 combo, but that's an extremely expensive...

It's very interesting to look at the D1X today...
Being a CCD freak, I try to collect all CCD cameras I can buy.
Just for the sake of curiosity, I've bought my D1X just a few months ago.
From an...

Just a couple of days ago, I suggested that a f1.8 zoom should exist in M4/3 format, and should be completely doable, given its smaller sensor size. The replies I've got: "are you a lens...

Hi Ptox, hehe I understand my posts are a bit confusing :) The reason I "need" that combo is because the GH2 (and now GH3) is the best video camera in the world below Arri Alexa, RED and Sony...

Hi Ptox, What you said is exactly my point. What about a fast micro 4/3 zoom that is not size or weight constrained ? That's exactly my point. Why do they have to be constrained? Not all times...
