I bought a Hadley Pro first, and use it with my D700. Liked it so much that I bought a Hadley small for my Fuji X-E1. Expensive, but their simplicity and lack of velcro and their old-school styling are what i like, and I've had a LOT of different bags. But they are like anything else, you buy what you like and you rationalize the cost...like we do with ALL of our gear!
I have a Fuji X-e1 with zoom in my B&H cart, then...I saw this. I've been waiting for years for a digital replacement for my film Pentax MX (black)..a great camera. However, my excitement completely went to zero, when I saw the small sensor and lack of manual control (external).Time to hit the buy button on the Fuji.
OK, but have they fixed the Nikon DSLR peeling rubber syndrome? ;)
But will the rubber grips peel off like every other Nikon DSLR? ;)
cre8unique: I watched the interview with Marc Newson and was mildly amused by his insistence on calling it the k-oh-one, while Pentax wants us to call it the k-zero-one. I always groan at product names that require their pronunciation to be explained! Mind you this isn't Pentax's worst product name... that would have to go to the *ist! (Still no idea how to say that!!)
As for the camera itself... well... it looks weird, but I've always has a bit of a soft spot for weird :-) On purely aesthetic ground I rather like it, and the yellow colour too.
I have lots of questions and concerns about this new camera, but I'm prepared to wait until the camera has been properly reviewed and I've handled it myself before I pass further judgement!
But I can't help but be curious about the Pentax-DA XS lens. I assume that this lens is designed specifically for the k-oh-one (I'm with Mr Newson on how to say it!!) and therefore won't fit on a Pentax K mount DSLR... will there be a whole series of DA XS lenses??
I miss my black Pentax MX w/ 400mm pancake from the 70's, so I guess I'm a retro guy but this thing looks awful, so....as far as I'M concerned, game over for pentax. I almost went for the K-5 to replace the MX, but then I saw the Fuji x pro1. Bye Bye Pentax
