I can't fault the IQ, generally speaking of DXO processed images. The problem I have with this program is that I frequently go on a shoot with two camera systems, including a Pentax 645D. DXO still...

Overpriced, too big, too heavy, weighs as much as the carry on allowance on some non-US airlines.

For the near future it seems LR will be around in licensed form. It can provide almost all of my needs. I use CS6 for little other than for sizing, sharpening, stitching and exporting to my...

I just tried a trial download of Aftershot Pro. On my Mac Pro it was considerably slower than ACR and didn't provide the level of highlight, shadow control of ACR, in my opinion. YMMV.

Interesting article, not a real review covering all of the available software, but mostly of interest to pixel peepers. In the real world, buyers of wall art, for the most part, don't have a clue...

Actually, I have seen others correct that assumption as four times the pixel count and twice the resolution on each axis.

Actually, I have seen others correct that assumption as four times the pixel count and twice the resolution on each axis, assuming you're referring to 4K vs 2K.

I assume you're referring to 8K vs 2K, not 4K vs 2K.

Most of the HD today can only be described as HD LIte, certainly when compared to HD viewed in a studio environment or the original analog 1125/60 NHK version of 1080i. However, DISH satellite...

It was actually called 1125/60 by NHK. When the US Congress decreed it should be a digital system for the US, the consortium of Zenith, RCA, Scientific Atlanta, and HP, that designed and...

FWIW, I was involved in the FIRST HDTV demonstration at CES in the late 80s when it was called 1125/60...with equipment supplied for the demo by Bell South, NHK and HBO, so I've been around HDTV...

The statement that watching a 42" 10 feet away, one cannot tell the difference between HD and SD is simply laughable. Unless you're blind, you certainly can tell the difference between a well...

If you want a retro styled body, the same SONY sensor, better ergonomics and superior internal signal processing, a larger display, then the Pentax-01 at $400 is a bargain. OTOH, if you insist on...

645 film frame size is 56x42mm. Pentax 645D frame size is 44x33mm. 35mm FF size is 36x24mm. In terms of actual sensor 'real estate' the 37-40 meg sensors in the Pentax, Leica and Hasselblads are...

No doubt Leica glass is exceptional. However, that said, most of the improvements he listed for the S2 were available from the get-go with the launch of the Pentax 645D. And you can get adapters to...

The RAW comparisons for judging sharpness can be misleading. The individual optics will play a significant role and if you move the cursor to various points around the studio shot, you will find...
