I hope it takes better pictures than my 100AW.

EvokeEmotion: Facebook bashing - it's what's cool these days. Although Apple-bashing is still quite trendy.

Don't forget Adobe CC sub$criptions.

This is just part of the larger trend to grab all rights to your digital media for free. Just look at the terms of the average "photo contest" now. They usually own your work and may re-assign it for profit just for you sending a submission.

If Facecrook isn't working for you then get off of it. It never has been a photo oriented site.

cjcampbell: Social media is destroying itself. All you see are friendship tests, invites to play boring games, and insulting messages that say that if you don't "Like" a picture of a dancing cat then you hate God, babies, and America.

Worse than that, why isn't there a thumbs down?

toomanycanons: Delete your Facebook account. Simple.

Facebook suicide isn't that simple. They hound you afterwards. I've been there and still rely on it to find things out. But I stopped posting good photos long ago. From the start I plastered my copyright on everything making it useless to them.

Better, their old yellow packaging and graphics were not exactly appealing. Like Hoodman.

Maybe when Canikon start losing big sales to tablets.

The biggest problem is that there's no category discipline enforced. Too many people head for the professional Nikon forum (AKA the D600 forum now) and post dumb questions about filters, camera bags and tripods.

It's painful and time consuming to figure out what is actually an issue, especially wading thru the usual, "I went to the Zoo Sunday, look at my pictures".

I can only hope companies like Nikon get a grasp of what their customers think when they see hundreds of negative posts about their new 500 dollar D800 grip.

That's where these comment sections have value, who sits down and biatches to say, Nikon about prices in a formal letter?

I learned a long time ago not to waste my time and film on these sort of shots. Even today very few RAWs from trips get processed afterwards shooting in cloudy/rain conditions. I use my time better running into town and getting a real meal.

Then again maybe you can buy those zillion bags and rain covers thru Amazon if you think someone wants to buy your pictures of occluded misery.

$4000 bucks in Canada for a Pramateur D800 camera with grip and taxes without GPS, Wifi and lense? And you wonder why sales are crashing.

Don't think I'll be running out to buy a 50 to do landscape with.

Real Dark Ages stuff. Loading your own bulk film is like rolling your own cigarettes to save money.

I'm missing the radioactive negative brush though.

OT - Objective reviews? One only needs to look at Pop Photo's farcical camera of the year to see what goes on. I'd believe DPR long before a lot of others out there.

Mssimo: What would be something that would cause DPreview to remove an item? D800 focusing issue or D600 dust issue? Not picking on nikon here..just could not think of others.

Or when Nikon would not sell repair parts outside of Nikon.

Simon97: "Good image quality for its class." I think that should read, "Good image quality compared to a camera phone. I don't understand why no one makes a decent durable P&S camera. Canon came close with the D10. They need to get a 12mp 1/1.7" BSI sensor in there and stop screwing around with the 16mp pinhead junk.

I have the AW100 and the 16MP jpgs are smeared junk.

Pay attention to the negatives - they are ALL valid. I have the 100 which I bought solely for GPS marking, and it frequently won't get a satellite lock. The smeared jpg files these AW cameras generate mean I do all my non-DSLR shooting with my iPad. Much better results.
