Mainly I would just like some communication of what's going on from Pentax. Some things are going way up, others staying the same, others being discounted. What's the deal?
If I had a statement...

Feels like it's designed for ease of use in actual picture taking, rather than shoveling in as many checkbox features as you can. It has what you need, where you need it.

Agreed. We have frogs that live in a pond nearby and they instantly disappear once you get within about 20 feet. Do you drug the pond water or chill them or anything like that? :)

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking for, but look into buying the K-30 with the 18-135mm WR lens. It's a good all-situations lens.

If you search for "aperture trial download" there are copies floating around.

I agree that quality should be more important than speed, the problem is that quality can't be easily condensed into a single number that you can print on the lens and packaging.
It seems like fast...

If you do decided to try adding more RAM, this is a good link to get a handle on exactly what memory you need to order and how much your machine can...

This would be a lot more useful to me if Aperture was included. Perhaps the reviewer just didn't have access to a Mac? Nonetheless, it still omits one of the most common converters.

This is actually quite handy to me. If LR5 stays with similar pricing to LR4 then I'll probably buy it. If they change over to some stupid subscription model, then I'll probably get Aperture...

The roadmap lists lenses they plan to release eventually, but there are no dates and no order of which ones will be sooner rather than later.
There are some things on the roadmap I'm interested in...

Between those two, I'd take the 7000 hands down. A better camera is more important than just a better sensor.

This is my default lens for everyday use, very nice.

Pentax was previously bought by Hoya, which mainly wanted the company's medical imaging department and during those years their camera department was a bit neglected. Now Pentax is owned by Ricoh...

I just picked up The Photographer's Eye recently as a beginner and would recommend it. It will take time & practice to fully absorb everything in it but I can certainly see how it will improve...

Makes sense. I've got smaller hands so the K-30 fits me very well but obviously people differ. I don't recall which model it was, but when I was recently down in Florida I held my father-in-law's...

So we want to get rid of the slamming mirror, but we don't like the half-stop of light that we're losing with DSLT?
Well, one approach would be to see if we can improve the pellicle and EVF sensor...

Just to clarify, what he means is that it may be difficult to find it in stock at a local store to hold before you buy. The actual ergonomics of the Pentax are excellent, it's not "hard to hold"...

OK, this is just the sort of plain nuts & bolts explanation I was looking for. That makes sense, it's a pre-flash sort of like what's used for red-eye reduction, except that in this case the...

Megapixels are actually a really bad way to gauge camera quality. Problem is, people got used to them back in the early days of digital where resolution was so low that it WAS important, and now...

I got my Pentax K-30 a little while back and love it. Now I'm looking at adding a flash for better indoor shooting, backlit situations, etc... but I can't seem to find any good *clear* information...
