Wow, the noise free clarity @ISO1600 is amazing. I wound not hesitate to use ISO1600 any time. A little drawback is its slow Lens end: f5.8. The background is still pretty “sharp”. With an f4 it would have a little more background blur.
Well, you have to make compromises.
It is a great new compact Camera! It’s on my wish list!
Getting very close. Would be nice to have f4 on the long end of the Zoom. With all the rest I can easily live. And how sharp will this the lens be? Keeping up with good EF Lenses, might be a dream since these lenses alone cost more than this camera.
Nevertheless it seems like a nice "compact" camera with supposing good IQ. Sure not as compact as the S95, but I was not really satisfied with the S95 image quality. Fixed Zoom is fine. Though, I'd also like a fast fixed prime ... I am not calling for an interchargeble version because a new mount would make it bigger again ... Well, can not have everything ... Or Canon makes multible GnX versions ... One with Zoom, one with prime ... Getting faded away ...
texviddy: Image stabilization???
The camera does not have image stabilisation. It's listed on the specs. The lenses may have, doubt thes 3 primes do ...
Looks indeed really nice. The 50mm eqv. f1.4 is sweet. But the price is insane 1700 + 650 bugs = 2350!! A nice little Zoom as addition would be welcome too, but yet another 650++ bugs …
Questions to be answered about AF speed and Image quality in real.
But definitely too expensive for me, sadly …
