  • Let me see if I understand this: mpgxsvcd's post is pointless, but your pointing out that mpgxsvcd's post is pointless is somehow profound? The irony would be amusing if hadn't already read a...

  • And we're all very happy for you. Meanwhile Sony continues to innovate.

  • straylightrun, you mean A77II, not A77. And, FYI, commenting on a camera's design -- whether we like it and why -- is what this section is all about. So kudos to the OP for sharing his entirely...

  • Huge?! -- what utter nonsense. It's a DSLR. If you prefer some compact camera to keep in your purse, fine, but don't fault this camera for being precisely what it's meant to be.

  • "Imbecile" was strong language, and I wish I hadn't used it -- but now that you've replied I'm no longer able to edit or delete it! ;-) That said, if Smeggypants is free to emphatically suggest...

  • Subjective feelings don require explanations -- unless they're offered for others' consumption on a public forum like this. (Duh.)

Besides, it's not your subjective feelings that b craw wants...

  • Smeggypants, you're really too much: first YOU pass judgement, then you accuse the person who calls you on it of acting superior. The only case of which this exchange is a "classic" example is...

  • So anti-government ignorance has finally made it to DPReview, of all places. Sigh.

  • Commented on Hands on with the Pentax 645Z article

Brilliant rebuke against these tedious forum rats.

  • Form follows function, most especially with cameras. I bet there's never been a single photographer whose name we might know (Adams, Karsh...) who cared one iota about how his camera looked.

  • Commented on Sony Alpha A7 / A7R preview

I'm willing to bet that the A7R's apparent edge in resolution isn't entirely explained by differing default sharpening levels.

  • I think there's a reason Android-based gadgets sell well, and it's not likely their ability to consume cupboard space.

  • Commented on Olympus OM-D E-M1 Review preview

Stu 5, the EM5 has the edge how?

Also, grips go a long way in determining camera application (e.g., hiking around and/or using large lenses imparts a need for a substantial grip). In this sense,...

  • Commented on Sony Alpha A7 / A7R preview

Nice to hear your general opinion on life and the universe, but this is an article on the A7 -- about which you seem to have nothing particular to say.

  • Commented on Sony Alpha A7 / A7R preview

The whole point of the E system is for those who AREN'T using "big lenses all day".

  • Commented on Sony Alpha A7 / A7R preview

I for one am glad you're not on the board of Sony. Hooray for the A7s.

  • Commented on Sony Alpha A7 / A7R preview

Um, what? First, Sony's E-lenses haven't really changed. And the A-mount lenses have been around since the invention of the camera -- or close to it. So I have no idea what you're talking about....

  • Only everyone here seems to disagree with your analysis...
