Not a good camera for the money, it would be a great camera if it costed less, NIKON is Playing a dangerous game

Antahkarana: I hope that Nikon is actually reading all these comments. They will learn a lot about what is missing in their product lineup.

I rarely comment on forums and this was the first time I started to comment here because I felt as strongly as others that lots of things have to change @ Nikon.

Nikon does not read DPReview comments - That is way it is slowly but surely crumbling down

io_bg: I'm a Nikon user and fan to some point and it was interesting to me to read this interview. However if they really listened to their customers then why there's still no D300s replacement, more DX prime lenses, 300mm f/4 VR lens, a real D700 successor, etc, etc?

They are manufacturing for the Angels and not for their previous customers

In reply to:

Zvonimir Tosic: I read lots of inflammatory responses, and rude comments about the four gentlemen in particular. I ask, why?

In the end, it your — user’s — own doing. You, a user, have a choice, but you seldom exercise your freedom to think and choose. Nikon is a respectable business still, and perhaps it will be better in the interest of their users if they focus on less products to please just everyone (which is obviously impossible), but more customer service and satisfaction in a certain segment.

However, even their current situation is not an excuse for incivility — you might have tried a different manufacturer in your imaging endeavours in the first place, one with less products to market, but offering more user satisfaction.

Customers are anxious and very very angry with Nikon, the pressure has been building up for months so any NOT NEWS makes customers EXPLODE

Direct link | Posted on Feb 18, 2014 at 00:12 UTC

Wrong, you just need to stop playing with your customers - Build all the best you have on a camera, don't launch 456 cameras playing with "spec in" and "spec out" and all very expensive - Where is my D400 ??? I have here the money you need - No need to evolve right now - Beat the Pentax K-3 and the money will flow flow flow

On Fujfilm interview: 'The only way is to keep innovating' article (228 comments in total)

This is a lie, the only way is not to innovate - You can also produce top cameras using the best you can do on a very much complete model for a fair price - People pay for what is good - Just compare the best crop cameras from CaNikon and the best from Pentax and you will all see what I mean and you will see there is not a single way to sell

Retzius: D400?

Never mind Nikon...

I give up.

It makes 2 of us and I guess there must be some 1.000 users that would gladly pay 1.500$ for it and also gave up

I would not even bother to look at it, so disappointed with Nikon, and Canon also follows the same path- Guess Pentax K-3 will be my choice

I know is just a smartphone but many 10 year old kids are doing much better photos than these with smartphones, for heaven sake - Are the criteria for showing up at Dpreview that low ???

zoranT: Who keeps buying this bulky, generic, plastic stuff?

On a second look, the price is not so bad for such a sensor size improvement, you may be right but we are always crying because Nikon keeps forgetting the 200/300 line and many WALLETS are ready for that

Coliban, just remember not to shoot at 1/8000 and remember not to take it during slightly bad weather, ohh and avoid letting it fall from 0,3m - A D300S yes can be what you need to Backup a D800, or better, what every Nikon Lover Wallet is praying for a D400

A camera that only shoots up to 1/4000 can be a good camera and all one may need but can never be a great camera

Carlos Loff: Is this the best Nikon has to show in Las Vegas ??? Trash, trash, trash - Maybe next year we have a D5375, lol - One week from now, if the D400 is not announced - I swear for the most sacred saints - I buy the Pentax K-3

I m not putting down the entries, but Im putting down Nikon priorities, we have dozens of entries to choose, is enough and urgent to show a top spec DX camera that replaces the D300
