David Arbitman: I was DQ because my entry was not considered a landscape, although I don't agree with the organizers' view...but now I see that most of the pictures are even less fitting than mine!

thanks

I understand that "No previous winners or second place finishers" means entries, not photographers.

The entry you put before was better in my view.
The hand gives it a sexy shyness.

Nik2: The idea is excellent, but technically not quite, to my regret ...
Congratulations to first place in the challenge!

thanks. It's an old photo made on film, not perfectly developed, and then scanned. On these days I think It would be a lot better...

RuthC: Congratulations, David Arbitman, on first place in 'The Sense of Smell' challenge, with your capture of this very pink, very inquisitive pig's snout. This is an excellent picture meeting the theme of the challenge superbly, with the rough grey boards enhancing the subject and directing our focus right onto the pig's pink nose. Ruth :-)

Many thanks Ruth, I'm proud of being #1!

Thanks. Yes, it is a barn on a very poor village in Mexico

Even though I{m very disappointed with being DQ for no reason, I voted positively on the ones that I feel deserve it

This is absurd!
My entry was disqualified because of a complaint.
What is the complaint? The least I should be able to see that!
I followed all the challenge rules, there is nothing offensive...
Maybe was too good for someone?

On challenge Cactus flower (4 comments in total)

I entered a great photo of a Maguey flower, and was disqualified for not being a cactus. I think you're mistaken, and a Maguey is a cactus with a spectacular flower, but you are the botanist, not me

Some of you guys got it quite right.
It is a macro pic of a rusted old pot (not copper).
The 30 mm is from a zoom len at the wide angle side.

In the rules you state no capture date restrictions, and I was DQ for using a photo from 2010!!!!!!
