Thanks.
I just noticed that there is is a profile in LR 4.4 listed for "SIGMA 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC MACRO OS HSM C013", but I don't know if it is for this new version of this lens. I guess I'll find...

Does anyone know how long it takes Adobe to add new lens profiles to Lightroom? I have the new Sigma C 17-70 on order and was just curious how long before there is a lens correction profile for it...

I realize this is very subjective, but to me "blurry" would be anything that's less sharp than when compared to taking the same photo on a tripod.

Just curious, for people who shoot with this lens, assuming stationary subjects, when you hand hold it at 300mm with VR on, what's the slowest shutter speed that you can set and not get blurry...

Thanks, guys! I'm about to pull the trigger on the new Sigma 17-70. Keeping my fingers crossed. And if it's a bit out of whack, hopefully it can be tweaked when the USB dock comes out next month.

Did you click on each picture and choose "1:1 view: 100%"?
The thing is, it looks fine with one lens but not the other, so the problem may be with one of the lenses and not the camera, I think.

I finally got around to doing the front/back focus test. The results are below. Pictures taken with the 18-55 lens seem to be completely out of focus. :-( Pictures taken with the 55-300 lens...

Mine does, too. I'm using an old Nikon 18-55 non-VR kit lens with D5200, focusing set to AF-F, if that matters.

The way I see it, even if you do get a Canon lens for your Canon body, there is no guarantee that there won't be any front/back focus issues due to manufacturing tolerances, both of your body as...

Not sure what pixelpeeping has to do with this. I can clearly see that a part of the image is in perfect focus. Unfortunately it is not the part that I wanted to and thought that I was focusing...

Have you looked at the EXIF data of her photo? It clearly shows aperture of f/16 and shutter speed of 1/50.
I'm sorry, but that's completely wrong. The purpose of Aperture priority mode is to...

I think that what you're observing is fairly normal for this lens. I have one, too. Strange thing is that I just upgraded my body from D40 to D5200, and at full zoom, I'm having a much harder...

Not DSLR... taken with my old Panny FZ5:

Doesn't the D5200 have AF-S, too?
-
Does anyone have experience with the two put together?
I've read a few reports of this lens causing some functional issues on the D7100. I sure hope that's not the case with the D5200 as well, but...

Thank you!
I've used both NX2 as well as Lightroom in the past, but wasn't aware of the differences in how they handle/not handle the picture control settings. Thanks very much!

Hello,
Do the picture control settings (sharpening, saturation, etc.) affect RAW images or only JPEG ones?
Thanks!

Nice! Now, where is an in-depth review of the D5200? :)
