I doubt it...but if that's what they've done (i.e. create a D710...)...I'll be first in line.

Looks like you've made your mind up.
Still...wont hurt to read this

There will always be better cameras than the one you have. The question you need to ask is "is the D90 good for what i need? The most likely answer is yes. The D90 uses same sensor as the D300/s...

Agree with #1 but ..14 bit will not make a significant difference IMHO.
Have a look

I think nikon wants "serious" amateurs to jump on the FX bandwagon. The market is taking care of increasing the perception that FX is "Pro" and DX is "amateur / soccer mum".
At this point in time,...

Thanks for your comments. Pics are nothing out of the ordinary
First one is a long exposure with a bunch of ND grads stacked up to achieve the "mirror" look, then Post processed on lightroom. Few...

Nice. The D600 looks better to me but I wish you could crop to match the D300 output size.

Second (or third, or fourth) hand D700s in Australia go for 1200au$ generally. 700Euro is very tempting....

Really? Would you be able to spot on a 27 inch monitor (lets say with 1080 HD) a shot taken with the D7000 and the exact same shot taken with the same lens and settings with a D800?
Are differences...

?? not sure what functions you use during shooting, but ISO, Shutter, Aperture, WB and many others...

Man that looks like it has only 23.1 bits of colour information and 14.2 EV dynamic range. The new D400 will be able to process 23.8 bits of colour AND 14.9 EV of DR. Now THAT would look awesome. ;-)

hope not...where would we post all the "where's the D400?" threads?

cheers
