Opinion: I've posted a thread in the forums regardin this camera and you can access it here:

http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1009&message=7525149

If you read my posts, I have provided lots of samples and addressed some issues. If you have further questions, feel free to post to that thread or email me.

Overall, I think its a very good camera for its size. Its very pocketable, and the large LCD screen is easily visable in even direct sunlight. If size is your primary driving factor, there currently is no equal (in my opinion).

Image quality is better than others in the same class with the same form factor. Images are sharp and clear, color contrast and saturation are also good.

My primary use is for a carry-everywhere camera that I can use to take snaps of my kids. It also has lots of options for more creative photography and I have seen some stunning results. It does not have any manual controls, however. But for the most part the you can get the needed flexibility through the various modes and exposure/saturation/contrast/sharpness controls.

If you are concered with noise issues, neat image is a nice program that reduces noise levels in your pictures and can be downloaded at www.neatimage.com - there are noise profiles specifically for the T1 there.

Problems: Just a few minor issues, but no real problems:
1) Its sometimes difficult to frame a shot in almost complete darkness. The AF assist lamp briefly lights up the scene so you can compose your shots, though.

2) No tripod mount - you can get away with resting the camera on a stable surface.

3) slow lense, in low light situations does sometimes causes difficulty getting clear shots - you can boost the ISO up to 400 that reduces this problem.

4) flash is weak, but again, turning the ISO up to 400 gets reasonable flash output. Even at ISO100, the flash is sufficient for most purposes.
