William Belvin: Good to see these , but they're not great for comparing resolutions. They were shot at f/11, and are badly affected by diffraction. Nikon recommends shooting at f/8 or lower for best results. I'd suggest f/5.6 would be a better test. Incidentally the 645D is shot at f/18 and is also affected by diffraction, even with its large sensor.
Not only the Aperture but also the studio scene, much better visible on imaging-resource use comparometer ...
I wonder that the high-res advantage is not so clear in these samples, much better impression I had from the imaging-resource samples ....
Visible higher resolution then D3x, for sure the D800 is not an ISO killer it tends to more color noise then D3x;cheers/K
Exactly that lens I am waiting for years on nikon to release it;
wonderful light and motion and composition, and perfect focusa Nikon D700 user :)
wildkat2: My take:
"I think the K-01 is a watershed camera for Pentax. The K-01 address the two biggest arguements against the current crop of mirrorless systems - small sensors and limited lenses. It is the first mirrorless camera with a "traditional" lens mount and a full range of lenses. Not a couple of lenses and a bunch of adapters. The APS-C sensor is 30% bigger than 4/3 sensor and there are more current production K Mount lenses than all other mirrorless systems combined (including the Q). And while P-TTL flashes are not up to Nikon or Canon standards, they are better than any other mirrorless has. Bottom line - the K-01 is the first mirrorless than dosent make you compromise the most important part of photography - the image."
fully agree, wished Nikon would have done it at the same way - some kind of Nikon D8000 APS-C mirror-less! instead of these expensive V1/J1 which are already on limit with their sensor size/Karl
and like the light composition - very fine and decent/Karl
Great ISO Performance and small Jpeg-files for this resolution (less noise?)would be a good counterpart for my Nikon D700 as travel cam./K
atoz: I would very much like to see high quality examples of the dynamic range from this new sensor. ISO a zillion is fine, but what about the shadow and highlight situation, and ISO 50, talk to me. It would be nice to see a solid zone system type comparison between the D3's, D700, this one and the newest Canon - am I asking to much? For 6K Nikon should provide anything we want. Also sharpness, don't like the softness with most AA filters. Overall though, the specs are quite nice.
Hey, what happened to the D800?
This is not correct;the Nikon vice president was interviewed last year and he told that the Resolution line and a separate iso line with high performance will be created.So the D800 with it's leaked specs shows a 32MP sensor which will neither have the frame rate nor will have the same iso performance ...but high resolution for still life., studio and so on ...cheers
mailman88: ...great capture in composition. But your subject, the dog is out-of-focus.At 1/1000sec., you could have used f/8 for a sharper pic.
The dogs Eyes are on scope;For me there is no but - fantastic!!/Karl
Even I am a Nikon User :-)your picture is beautiful,very nice game with color and low lightgreat Muslim art
