This is one customer for whom you don't want to do a re-shoot.

This flame-bait thread is the only comment this user has ever made with this account. I suggest that it be ignored.

This French photographer throws everything he can at his D3s - falls, water, ice and flame. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
Here's the video, courtesy of our friends at Nikon...

Hmmm. You may be encountering a series of issues for which there are individual corrections. First off, Lightroom aside: transferring the images to the Mac, then to back up, then to a remote...

I shoot into stage lights often, and in public a lot where there are lots of sunny reflective surfaces to deal with. The flare resistance on the Nikkor 35mm 1.4 is flipping great. In fact, this is...

Agreed. I've a MacPro 1,1 and Lightroom has no issues processing the files.

So 16 MP seems 'big'. If you scan 35mm film, you get negatives into the mid 30 mps easily.

We've all done it once. I remember once coming home from and wondering why I couldn't some settings in Lightroom. I even rebooted the computer, as I recall. Finally the light bulb went on --...

You want at least one piece of fast glass and the 50mm is a good unit to get because it is comparatively inexpensive. It is two thirds of one stop difference, but it is one hell of two thirds of a...

Can you be more specific? What exactly do the current 50mms not do that you would like them to do?

It's a bit like changing cars. The first two weeks you're driving, you hate the new car's transmission. Why? Because it doesn't work like your old car's transmission.
Give it a week or two....

I have owned both. The 50mm 1.4D will serve you very, very well. Anyone who tells you there is a night and day difference between them is trying to sell you something. These are both very capable...

So the extra F stops are for decoration?

Sure, it's got a front end like a pie plate but the flexibility given by 1.4 is an acceptable trade off to me. Even in bright sun, I nearly never need to use the hood. It's a fine, fine piece of kit.
