I really like this article - can't understand all the hate. Would be much easier to create such an image with a tilt shift lens (using the shift then stitching undistorted panoramas). In fact...

Fairly interesting but is a good demonstration of the subjective nature of the "art" in photography. I'd have deleted these shots had I taken them!

Really do appreciate your comments - very kind indeed and thank you for taking the time to look.
Now - let's not talk about sport or we are going to fall out :) Let's return to the more...

Hi all
A few weeks back I posted about a upcoming trip to Southern Iceland I had planned - with a particular focus on whether it was possible to do such a trip at a reasonable cost (given Iceland's...

Pretentious nonsense. There are millions (literally I expect) of amateur photographers who take vastly more interesting pictures in my opinion. I'd have deleted some of these if I'd taken them.

This is a banded damoiselle - beautiful creatures and nice pictures.

LOL - sorry :)
Have you tried the 500D close up dioptre on the 70-200mm? OK - it doesn't give a longer reach (in fact he opposite) but it is a surprisingly capable macro capability.
And it's a...

Hi there
Yes - I always do my shooting like this hand held. The IS is very effective - I tend to try to keep the shutter speed at 1/125th at least (with a 420mm focal length).
Thanks

Yes you are absolutely right. Patience is the key to dragonfly shooting. Waiting for one to return to it's favourite perch is the best technique by far. With experience, you can learn which...

It's been a very late start to the dragonfly season in Britain this year - but finally a spell of hot weather and they are out :)
They've been too energised to get near with a macro lens, so I...

Hi all
I am no videographer but do use my 5dMkII for making family home videos from time to time. I've made a from a couple of trips to Hong Kong and posted on YouTube. It suffers a little from web...

Still using 4Gb RAM in my iMac (2008) as that's all it will take!
My Aperture library is 500Gb and it works OK - just a bit slow after importing a batch of photos for a while.
Best to have no other...

Hi all
We've just hatched 5 painted lady butterflies - I've done a blog post here. Fantastic opportunity to get close to them with the MP-E65 :)

Hi all
I decided to get the Samyang 8mm fisheye lens to complement my only other lens on the X-E1 (currently the 35mm F/1.4 which I love).
I've done a blog post of first impressions here
Basically...

Sorry for my tardiness!
It's a lowly mini van - yes a Renault or something similar without 4 wheel drive. I have read about the virtues of 4x4 in Iceland, but thought that there will be more than...

Rich. Very helpful indeed thanks. I'll take a detailed look at your suggestions on the maps this evening.
Much appreciated

Both. Appreciated thanks. You make a good point about needing somewhere to have a dump! Lol. Very true. The other issues is charging batteries - an eclectically hookup will be useful for that....
