You absolutely need raw for proper WH, lighting and color correction. It's easy for the company to program and SD cards have a lot of capacity now, so there is no excuse. A lot of photography...

AW120 owner here. I only get flare issues if there is dirt on the lens. Definitely make sure the lens is very clean. If you have glare issues, you may need to use the exposure compensation dial....

Observation regarding the tests. They are very well done and very helpful. However...the space needle test is "too ideal" for the outdoor shot. One set of tests needs to be done to test the...

AW120 and AW100 owner here. Not sure about the complaint that the screen is hard to see? Is very easy for me to see outdoors. Does scratch easily though. Not sure about the jab at the AW120's...

  • Nice shots!  Fellow AW120 owner here and I find that a lot of macro-photography tends to get a tad-overexposed (especially wildflowers because they reflect so much light).  Your second image is ...
  • The AW100 came with a special bracket that you could fit a 40.5mm filter over the top.  The AW120 did not come with this and has a larger square opening for the lens so this old this bracket will ...
  • Appreciate the link.  The outdoor shots had dynamic range issues...but shooting outdoors can be challenging for any camera, not just a rugged. What I'm really curious about is video...and how much ...
  • Thanks for the links.  It appears the big focus for the TG-3 is its new macro-mode.  I like macro-photos...but it is a minority of what I shoot.  If this, 16MB, and 1080 60p are the really only ...
  • Doing some research that I'll share and hopefully others can chime in here. Again, for wide angle, you can't compare literal specs because cameras like to crop edges for quality reasons and many ...
  • Thanks for the reply!  Worried about movies, as I shoot a lot of them.  In one sample I saw too, the wide angle for the AW110 was better than the TG2, so worried that their image stabilizer crops ...
  • Aw100 owner here and somebody who takes a lot of video from my yak with my Gorrilapod tripod. One thing you have to be careful of is perhaps the focus of the camera.  If the camera is pointing too ...
  • One more question.  If you turn off the camera, does it disable the 2 second delay?  Or does it remember it is in "2 second mode" even when turned back on?
  • Thanks for the information!  That's great news.  Thinking of getting either a TG2 or AW120.  Any personal thoughts about the TG2 (pro's/con's) that you would be willing to share?
  • Created questions Question for a TG2 owner
I use 2 second delay for most of my shots (helps a lot to cut down trigger shake). But on most cameras, you have to cycle through the menu each time to setup the 2 second delay.  So if you take 10 ...
  • TG3 is going to be released June 6th and I'm wondering if I should wait for that instead of getting the AW120. I shoot a lot of kayak videos, so the rugged aspect is more so if the camera gets wet. ...
