Generally it is encoded in the raw file and the raw developer will pick up the data and apply the corrections There are a few out there that may not support this but all the mainstream ones should.

For the last 150 years sensor/film size has progressively got smaller, for mainstream photography, as technology has improved.
From large plates all the way down to APSC.

IF I see a great scene or good light I may spend ten minutes trying different angles and different settings and shoot a dozen or so photos. But this may happen only a few times on a good light day...

I think the colour from the E400 is great as well. The lack of DR used to drive me to distraction but everything else about the IQ at low ISOs is great.

I would be very surprised if the E-M1 was anywhere near the Nikon dSLRs in focus tracking, particularly in poor light.
I suspect it will be better than the Olympus E5 in good light but may struggle...
