wolfbane: Incomplete instructions? "All the emotions surrounding........."
Perhaps it's for Zen masters.
Alistair

Sorry,
It was entirely my mistake.
Perhaps the right statement would have been ''It's for you dear'. Bring all the emotions surrounding the act of gifting something tangible or intangible to somebody'

ws1967: some persons in these pics aren't painting - they're drawing.

True.
We are considering drawing as painting.

Thanks for mentioning.

On With that glass of red wine challenge (4 comments in total)
In reply to:

RuthC: Do you want us to drink the glass of red wine BEFORE the photo shoot, or after? I think I'd end up taking my photos UNDER the table, after a few test shots.... Just joking. :-)

Our suggestion would be: take the shot when you are halfway done.
Thereby the liquid impacts on your imagination, yet, the camera gets to see the red.

In reply to:

TX Photo Doc: I'm very disappointed that my tulips entry was disqualified AFTER submissions ended for having a black background. I have another version with the table lamp in the photo that I could have replaced it with.

Dear friends,
'Flowers in my Room' has turned out to be the most difficult challenge to moderate.
We received complains for photographs taken out-door. We disqualified. Then we received complains on photographs which were difficult to find where actually had been taken... we disqualified. Then we started getting complains 'Why you DQ-d my snaps? Those were ACTUALLY taken indoor'.
In entirety, it has become very difficult to ascertain where exactly those snaps were taken.
So, we decided to be strict (which was the most difficult and heart-wrenching decision ever taken) and planned to keep only those snaps which are distinctly taken inside a room.
We DQ-d 75%.
We understand some of the snaps were taken indoors but those were not evident.
So, dear friends, thanks for your overwhelming response. Hope in future you all will show equal enthusiasm and take part.
All the very best!
Cheers!

I am really disappointed that my entry was deleted from the challenge, can you please inform me about the reason specially that you have listed no rules when you announced this challenge.

ema-art: Well, I did ask politely and twice as to why both my entries have been disqualified, since they completely conformed to all the rules and suggestions within this Challenge. I was expecting at least an equally reasonable explanation which you never supplied. Now you announce the 75% of the entries being DQ'd, and still give no explanation about such drastic percentage!
Would you sincerely expect me to enter any more of your Challenges after such treatment?
Regards

Dear folks,
It has been a very difficult situation for us.
To do justice to all the participants and to conform to the challenge theme we have disqualified about 75% of the entries.
Hope for the voters the task is now bit easier.
All the inconvenience caused are regretted.

In reply to:

jojosardez: "Where do you keep them inside your house ?"

Should the picture contain more details than just the "flower" itself? Because there are some entries which just contains a picture of a flower and some seems was shot outdoor.

The 'My room' part is important.
Outdoor shots / only flower shots are being disqualified.

Jaysun: My first 1st place in a photo challenge! I don't know what to say. I didn't prepare anything.

I'd like to thank all those that made this possible. Praise be to Nikon and Adobe. without you guys, I would've been nothing. I wanna thank my mother, my supportive girlfriend, my kids, and my two cats. Most of all, I'd like to thank the lizard that frequents my bathroom window while I shower. Thank you all! :)

CONGRATULATIONS !
Hope this moment returns many times in your life.

In reply to:

JamesWG: As I read the challenge, I read through "YOUR" window, which I understand to be what you see when you look out of your window. I also took it to mean looking out and from a place you live, work or visit often. Not just any window and certainly not looking into another person's window.

Your point is valid and I agree to that.
But, for the sake of seeing photographs more in number and better in looks we thought of banking on the broader meaning.
Cheers !
