Instead of releasing or making new models, why not focus on increasing D800, D800E and D4 production to meet the long list of orders.. (waiting in vain) lol

jl_smith: The sound you hear is that of a thousand computers wailing in pain at processing these files :(.

Man, I thought the 24MP of my former A850 was big...but this 36MP is ridiculous.

Congratulations to whoever needs it, I guess.

With my computer? I would have no problem.

Coal bin: This is a camera with 36 million sub-pixels. A full pixel is an abstract point having all three RGB values. As for all digital cameras, the word "pixel" is used incorrectly. My point: This camera can be regarded as having 9 million real pixels - think in terms of 4 sub-pixel segments (RGBG) that together provide information on all three colors. I would find it interesting to test the camera at this resolution setting, which is plenty for most subjects.

Put another way, perhaps we're entering an era where a pixel can really be a pixel.

This is awesome. 15mp crop in Dx means I can use low end lenses on this baby right? And oh.. forget about the 70-200 VRI's light falloff - its still gonna work at 15MP. So its more of a d300+d700 in one. Yay for Nikon. I am getting the E because it has an E in the end.
