I like your G1X pics better than the EOS-M pics. In terms of image quality. They are crisper (a tad sharper) and brighter somehow.

The generic ones are a fifth of the price. Mostly they are just fine. Buy ones which have good user reviews.

Definitely not a charger. A spare battery would be uncomfortably tight in the Tamrac 5689.

I beg to differ - the padding of a 'soft' case is what will protect the camera. The G15 is just not that heavy.

I second the Tamrac 5689. Further, I use the G15 with a wrist strap rather than the supplied neck strap.

I can confirm F8 is indeed the smallest aperture on the G15 , and the S95 for that matter.

Are you sure the G15's aperrture doen't go smaller than f8?

Just buy a few 'third party' batteries. They're that cheap.
