Marco - I stand by what I say. The G1X pics look more pleasing (and a tad sharper) than the EOSM pics. It's not that there may be a bit more depth of field to the G1X images - it's that where both...

I like your G1X pics better than the EOS-M pics. In terms of image quality. They are crisper (a tad sharper) and brighter somehow.
-
The generic ones are a fifth of the price. Mostly they are just fine. Buy ones which have good user reviews.

Definitely not a charger. A spare battery would be uncomfortably tight in the Tamrac 5689.
-
I beg to differ - the padding of a 'soft' case is what will protect the camera. The G15 is just not that heavy.
-
I second the Tamrac 5689. Further, I use the G15 with a wrist strap rather than the supplied neck strap.
-
I can confirm F8 is indeed the smallest aperture on the G15 , and the S95 for that matter.
-
Are you sure the G15's aperrture doen't go smaller than f8?
-
Just buy a few 'third party' batteries. They're that cheap.

Can you claim under warranty.

I found the G1X to have quite a slow start up time and shot to shot time. Definitely no faster in operation than the G10. If you already have a G10 I would think carefully before upgrading, because...

I think he implied squarer.

The first is 4:3 the second 16:9. I am more inclined to crop when post-processing. Otherwise there will be an in camera setting choice (i.e. pre-crop).
-
I find the default wide open on the S100/110 too wide at 24mm and I woud prefer the camera to start at, say, 28mm. Regardless of the what focal length when I last used it.
-
You've just stumbled across the achilles heel of the G1X.
-
I actually prefer to shoot in 4:3 as the default aspect ratio, as it gives me more latitude to crop afterwards when post processing.
Most digicams will merely crop a 4:3 image when you select the...

Yes, I just realised that. It would have been nice if they could have made correspondingly smaller lenses for it.
But I assume it will at least have as fast operating performance as a conventional...

I think the Eos 100D almost definitely means we won't see a G2X.
I now want this new mini DSLR..!

A couple of cheap 3rd party batteries should see you through until you next reach a power source. You do need to carry the charger unit if you're travellng for any length of time but it's very...

Bear in mind P mode in the G15 tends choose a wide aperture / fast shutter speed.
Activity older than 12 months is not displayed.
