On Dpreview Users' Poll: Best Camera of 2012? article (1514 comments in total)

Haha, it's so funny seeing this many people get upset about a poll which was meant to be subjective. I've been trying to find a smaller camera to replace my Canon 60D because it's too much of a hassle to carry around. I've tried several smaller cameras that were supposed to contend with APS-C and the OMD was the only one that won me over.

Liked the focus peaking on the NEXs but they were uninspiring. Fuji's colors were amazing and image quality was superb but af was frustrating (new firmware). Hybrid viewfinder was cool but in use not that great. Lens selection was lacking. Then came the Goldilocks OMD, just right! Size, image quality (better than Rebel but not FF), focusing, lens selection, good evf, and all the features you'll ever need!

It's a feat to get everything just right. Sure I'd love to own an RX1 or D800, and some cameras will beat it in a certain criteria but the OMD is a LIFE changer. I don't care if it wins or not, it made it a great year to be a photographer. Cheers!
