Birdman7's recent activity

  • Here a photo of a Hawfinch (Coccothraustes coccothraustes) in a recent bird photography workshop. Taken with a Kowa 500mmL F5.6 with TX10 adapter. used Aperture priority using manual focus peaking ...
  • Actually, I have noticed a WB issue on Jpegs, but no way im sending it back! (I did catch the sarcasm dont worry lol)  Love this camera ;)
  • Mistle Thrush, taken now with Kowa TP500mmL lens/scope + TX17 (850mm) adapter using MF focus peaking enabled no editting from RAW using WIFI function to iPhone6+
  • Keeper rate using MF & focus peaking is very good, but I cant post them now, I will another day. Relying on AF even on one-shot is poor for birds as the AF point is quite largish, though mite be ...
  • Sample JPEG shot of a Mistle Thrush taken now on ONE-SHOT AF focusing extremely well uploaded via Canon Camera connect app on iPhone6+  Taken on RAW and this  S1 JEPG using neutral pic style ...
  • This combo suprisingly AF very well on ONE-SHOT, very useful for distant small birds making the M3 a very versatile & capable piece if kit. I just wish the AF point was a bit smaller to focus on ...
  • Thanks for your kind words, although I was never comparing it to the 5D3, an unfair comparison.  Im just surprised that it can AF at F8 pretty well ;)
  • Created discussions M3 & EF400mmL F5.6 AF at F8
AF Definately works on both one-shot & servo. But I insist, useless for birds in flight photography, excellent for many other things. Will conduct some tests on 2XIII and old 1.4II later. Thx Canon.
  • My main concern is the fact you cannot use an external flash on the hotshoe whilst using the EVF. -- Bird Photography workshops Digiscoping courses Birdwatching tours Specialising in Spain & Morocco ...
  • Whats happens if one needs flash? -- Bird Photography workshops Digiscoping courses Birdwatching tours Specialising in Spain & Morocco www.aviantours.net
  • Another thing iv noticed when using my EF lenses (16-35 II) with built in flash, lens shadow occurs at shorter distance, even with lens shade off. So basically is your using the EVF, u cant use ...
  • Thank you!  Finally some1 understands, great video explaining my observations of the hardware limitations of what is otherwise a great little camera.
  • Basically what I mean is that you can see a very brief preview of the frame, for each frame, its the same as a blackout, hence the 'freeze'. In essence you cant follow the movement either ...
  • I have done a simple test. Shooting continuous drive, Image Review OFF, ManualFocus selected, with RAW off and only small JPEG S3 enabled on my Lexar 32GB 1000X UHS-II SDHC card and still the ...

BH confirmed today shipping of my spare M3 LP-E17 battery :) -- Bird Photography workshops Digiscoping courses Birdwatching tours Specialising in Spain & Morocco www.aviantours.net
  • Thx everyone for your kind comments, loving my M3 :) -- Bird Photography workshops Digiscoping courses Birdwatching tours Specialising in Spain & Morocco www.aviantours.net
  • My card is a Lexar 32GB 1000X UHS-II and im wondering if my performance issue is related to this? I will have to test with a fast UHS-I card and retest, il report back.
  • You will have to expand on what exactly 'alomst eliminated' means cause its a very subjective conclusion and may be good for one user, but not for another like myself who have specific performance ...
  • I only managed to use EOS remote once, then it never worked.  CCC works flawless though.
  • These were setup specifically to capture this species in a known location where I live :)
