Has anyone who reported the earlier OIS issue (micro vibration over long exposure) found whether this fixed the problem?
-
Suggest you search threads on this. Plenty reported, in particular with PZ lenses from Panasonic 14-42x and 45-175x. Looks like it can be avoided now with electronic shutter on the latest...

Thank you very much for posting - in my mind this confirms that the the double blur issue at 42mn is due to the shutter, not the lens itself. I can see the double blur on the normal shutter pic...

Too bad there are no EXIF...

Thanks Simon for taking the time to respond and glad to see the feedback is already being taken on board...
To be honest, I am quite surprised that it takes 1 month for a full review to be prepared...

Thanks all for your constructive responses, in particular to Simon J as this isn't necessarily easy.
I do acknowledge the fact that a deliberate push towards higher end models (rather than point...

Having read reviews on DPR over many years, I am wondering whether the site editors could provide some communication over the site strategy and key 'market' or 'mission statement' (big words I...

thanks...firmware update log are not always exhaustive, so I was wondering if there could be other benefits (or issue as it has occured) brought by the update if one uses the lens on other cameras...

Log provided by Panasonic says it improves auto focus on GH3 for the 45-175, 45-150 and 14-42. Has any non GH3 user done the update and notice any change/improvement with other cameras?
cheers

Agree, it is not limited to one section of the photo. I definitely did not use a filter so reflection is out but I might have forgotten to switch the OIS on the lens (GX1 does not have IBIS)....

I have had some random results too. Some very sharp ones but some where some specific areas of the picture are blurry whilst others are sharp. For example, if you look on the right side and focus...

For what it's worth, though I am no fan of the 14-42pz as a zoom lens (double blur photos past 20mm at certain speeds), the latest of the 5 copies I got to try is very sharp at 14mm corner to...

Thanks for the update. Please do continue sharing. Looking at some of my long exposure shots on tripod, I also noticed some sections of the photo sharp while others were not, which could be related...

Well this is excellent news then!!! thanks for letting us know. Though I have no reason to doubt you findings (since you were able to identify it on the GX1), you could easily convince doubters by...

Though this is on the GX1, I suspect this is the proof you were looking for. Compare (low resolution) electronic shutter to (full resolution) mechanical shutter. I think you will understand why...

Can't comment on water resistance since I don't take that risk, but after 2 months of (moderate, mostly city) usage on a GX1 my 12-35 has dust specks inside (ie on the back of the front glass)....
-
Though being limited to lower resolution, the GX1 also allows the use of the electronic shutter. Same conclusion as on the g5 pointed above and this is the reason I am holding off to the 14-42x....

Out of curiosity, why would you consider buying the 45-150 when you can buy for more or less the same price the 45-175 whose weight, size and specs are equivalent, including the PZ buttons which...

Interesting thread and examples. Did you consider using a grad ND filter here? might have been the easiest solution in my opinion...
