This 1-inch sensor, 25x zoom camera should shape like a bridge camera with a good comfortable grip.
And price it around $500 if possible.
Timmbits: FINALLY! a compact superzoom with a bigger sensor! :-) I sold my Fuji X-S1 this past spring, and very glad I did... I'm only surprised it took this long for this to come out (and I was even more surprised at the enthusiasm surrounding the tiny-sensored fz200 and other tiny-sensor superzooms - they are rather noobish in comparison).
PS: ouch! just saw the price!
Your Fuji has a good 26x optical zoom.
I hope Canon will make a superzoom bridge camera with a smaller sensor of 10 x 7.5 mm ( 4:3 ) and with a longer 20x optical zoom ? Price it at around $600 and it will sell.
Can Canon make a superzoom bridge camera with a smaller sensor of 10 x 7.5 mm ( 4:3 ) and with a longer 20x optical zoom ? Price it at around $600 and it will sell.
This camera looks nice externally.
But Canon should add more features and sell it a slight higher price, let's say US$199, to include the following
mini HDMI connectivity720p video recording at 60pCMOS sensor for higher sensitivity460,000 dots screen
to maintain a competitive edge over average smartphones.I wondered will the add'l $20 be able to pay for all these upgrades?I don't mind forgoing the lithium-ion battery for the previous AA-battery package to cut cost.
Longer and longer zoom but still the same small sensor. Still waiting for the first 1-inch sensor superzoom to be announced.
Surprise. My Nokia N97 mini also qualifies.
If Sony will to put this 1-inch sensor into their bridge camera like the HX200V and reduces the zoom range to accommodate for the larger sensor, it will be a fantastic camera.
I am looking forward to manufacturers putting 1-inch sensors into zoom bridge cameras. A 15x zoom will suffice.
Shutterbug108: I am hoping they will put a 1-inch sensor into a bridge camera with a big zoom lens.
Correct me if I am wrong : But Sony HX200V bridge camera has a 4,8 to 144 mm zoom lens. Is it not feasible ?
I am hoping they will put a 1-inch sensor into a bridge camera with a big zoom lens.
jgoring: Looks like there's space... A little tab of double sided sticky foam, and my hot shoe optical view finder will fit right between the two microphones. Looks like Sony just obsoleted the S100.
Sony doesn't have a S100; Canon does.
cesaregal: I'd like better:a) sensor bigger (2/3" with crop factor 4x)b) min 6 Megapixel, max 8 Megapixelsc) zoom 14x (28-400mm equiv.) fast as possible d) RAW.Bigger pixel's size -> better dynamic range. For birdwatchers too.
I wish Nikon had incorporated their 1" CX sensor into this bridge camera. To compromise on the lens side, I can live with a smaller zoom of let say 15 times.
Shutterbug108: I hope Nikon will put this 1-inch sensor into their future SLR-like bridge cameras and complete them big zoom lens, EVFs and built-in flashes. Then they will interesting to use.
I don't expect the lens to have a 30x zoom; I would be happy if it can zoom up to 15x ( 28 ~ 420 mm equivalent ? ), not just 4 to 5 times.
It would be beautiful if the 1-inch sensor bridge camera comes completed with a comfortable full-size grip and a Carl Zeiss or Leica branded zoom Lens.
I hope Nikon will put this 1-inch sensor into their future SLR-like bridge cameras and complete them big zoom lens, EVFs and built-in flashes. Then they will interesting to use.
A bigger zoom and a bigger grip like that of a bridge camera might be nice. Hope that can happen in the next iteration.
Fujifilm should incorporate Lithium-ion battery into this camera, like the other bridge cameras instead of using 4 AA batteries.
I wish that Canon has designed in a Lithium-ion battery instead of AA batteries in the SX150 camera.
