Well I'm about so sell my "gold" award x-e2 with the awesome fuji 35mm 1.4 and upgrade the the "silver" sony a7 + zeiss 55mm 1.8.
Am I crazy?
This just increased the resale value of my d600. Thanks Nikon
wow. worst design I've seen in a long time.
Nice precursor the the FF x200.
Jogger: Im not sure why DPR is so obsessed with the propensity for the a7 to choose 1/60.. only a newbie would have an issue with that. Hopefully someone buying a $1700 camera will understand what they are doing. Who do they think this camera is being marketed to?
And poor jpeg quality... on a 36 mp, 14 bit, no-AA, FF sensor!!?? Thats like buying a Ferrari and complaining that the Eco-mode isnt satisfying to drive.
@ZhanM1nG12 By the time I do that the decisive moment has already past.
@Tonkotsu Ramen 1/60 shutter speed in aperture priority leads to blurry pics
I'm not a newbie and 1/60 auto iso implementation is one of the reasons I didn't get the sony a7. Come on Sony should know better if they listen to photographers.
I think the expected price rumor was already debunked by nikonrumors themselves
I can't wait for the 24-70 2.0! Come on sigma RELEASE IT!
SergioMO: What a monster ! Phase one !
But think of the digital zoom possiblities.
Who says more megapixels is a waist hasn't seen these phase one images.
Phase One - OMG!
For the x-a1 Fuji will reset their 2/3 stop bias present in the x-trans sensors in order to show x-trans superiority.
Dpreview iso comparisions will show that x-trans is 2/3 of stop better noise. In actuality the bayer and x-trans will have similar high iso performance.
I pre-ordered one. It'll go very nicely with the new 23mm 1.4 lens.
peevee1: Look at JPEG test @ ISO25,600 in low light. D70/D7100 - f/5.6, 1/80s, X-Pro1 f/5.6 1/30s. Almost 1.5 stops difference. Come on DPR, some quality control in your tests is badly needed. And why AutoWB (with "preserve warm tones" no less ON!! sheesh!) for some cameras and manual WB for others?
Discrepancies like these make the tests useless. Good thing you only need to retest (yes, retest!) 10 cameras or so.
The x-pro1 daylight was shot at 1/2000 f/7.1 6400isoThe 5d mark III daylight was shot at 1/200 f/5.6 6400iso
The x-pro1 tungsten was shot at 1/15 f/7.1 6400isoThe 5d mark III daylight was shot at 1/15 f/5.6 6400sio
Richard. Is it really fair to make iso comparisons that are 2/3 stop difference?
You have a new test scene! This is time to use new testing procedures.
Instead of pinning aperture and iso only you also need to pin shutter speed.
After you pin shutter speed then normalize the image with gain +/-. This is the only way to assure proper iso comparisions. It's not a fair comparison that the e-m1 gets 2/3 stop more light than the 70d.
hmm what? Just a cosmetic change. How sad. Now time to cancel my pre-order.
24-48mm 1.8 zoom for ff please.
