I like it to use old MF glass on MILC
helmus: It would have been better to have someone who can handle an X-Pro1 and this lens. This "tester" could not do it, quite obvious not ...
Strange, it seems as the link name changes every day...
The file name is DSCF7034_ISO200
For me it is absolutely inappropriate to show the quality of this lens.Nobody photograph such a motif at f2.8, at 1/70 sec without tripod, not at 200 ISO without necessity. From -real World- this shot is far away, and not only this photo ..But this image shows very well that I do not need this lens. The reason is, it has no OIS.
Just one example of several other:https://s3.amazonaws.com/masters.galleries.dpreview.com/3140353.jpg?X-Amz-Expires=3600&X-Amz-Algorithm=AWS4-HMAC-SHA256&X-Amz-Credential=AKIAIWXD4UV3FXMIDQLQ/20150218/us-east-1/s3/aws4_request&X-Amz-Date=20150218T133923Z&X-Amz-SignedHeaders=host&X-Amz-Signature=17dc6bcd0b2512760cebe578954ffae97f100b7b073e8aff42abc825c5956017There is nothing sharp shown in the photo. No surprise at f2.8, 1/70 sec and just 200 ISO. You have used only 200 ISO for all shots. Why ? Therefore often a shutter speed below 1/60 sec. The 16-55mm has no OIS, one image would been enough to show this.If I had not seen photos that others have done with the 16-55mm, I would think the lens is really too bad.

This picture seems to be sharp only in the center to me ...and for those landscape shots, the LX100 is not usable for me.This blurring in the images edges and corners ... I have expected a better picture quality of Panasonic and Leica.
...soft ? !
I think that's one hand the result of aperture 7.1 and also a result of the in-camera JPG engine.I'm still waiting for RAW pictures, developed with LR 5.7, someday...
jackspra: Some shots look way out of focus to me.The cork being one.
Nose or noise correction... ? :o)))
kadardr: 1. This is a fixed lens compact, nothing to compare to a MILC with any prime.2. Judging preproduction jpegs as a serious quality measure does not provide justice to any camera.3. It seems that Lumix cameras are generally underrated, or as another explanation: Olympus cameras are generally overrated.4. LX100 must have a very good handling, it seems like a joy to use.5. If you want physical control and usable LCD size you cannot miniaturize more. Or buy a Google Glass.

Panasonic would never allow to show full resolution JPG OOC here, when JPG engine would not the final version. I fear that what we see here is the final version. So it will come not around to RAW and a good converter, as with many other Panasonic cameras before.
It was pretty disappointing for me to see the first pictures from the LX100 ...my old LX5 will probably stay with me, still a whole time.
Or a X30... maybe ?
John McMillin: Phooey! The X30 discards the one unique feature of its predecessors, the OVF, and joins the me-too list of lookalike compacts. So why would I want to use this rather than my LX7, which has 24mm and f1.4, and fits in a large pocket?
All I wanted was an x10 scaled to 50% with a larger sensor. If Fuji won't make that camera, I don't expect anyone will. This is a dark day indeed!
I have and use a EVF on my LX5... tiltable... :o)
Sorry, but I can not find anything on the X30 that excites me to switch to the X30.
nemark: This phenomena is known as a sun pillar.
Thanks for identification.
Is this a joke?
The next thing will be, Amazon collects patent rights in the sunlight.
I'd like to see an RAW, developed in LR to tiff... this pic here, without the in camera noise reduction !!!
hmmmm.... unsharp eyes...backfocus or with intend ?
Really beautiful !!!
slncezgsi: I would only wish the lens was an equivalent of 35 mm, not 45 ...
For this reason, I have a X100 :o)
EmmanuelStarchild: Can this compare with Canon L glass?
Or more specifically, does this compare with the Canon 28mm f/1.8?
There is no Canon 28mm L lens...I hope that this new Voigtländer lens makes this forgotten!
