km25: Well gang, when I brought my three Leica lens, I paid no more then three grand per lens. A 24mm f2.8 asph., 35mm f1.4 asph (the shifty one) and a 90 mm APO f2.0. And the 24mm and 35mm are chrome. Leica does not need a new 7 grand lens, they need a camera. As far as lens go, I had orginally brought a 90mm f2.8, chrome. The 90mm APO is one of Leica best lens to date. I saw little difference between the two 90's. I have learned there those who are photographers and equiment buyers. In the old days one would buy a Hassenblad, you looked for a camera traded in by a doctor (The got to have best and have the money). They sell the camera because it is hard to use. Leica makes all these lens so well and a very sharp and contrasty. Unlike Nikon and Canon they have no dogs. That being said who can afford these lens, maybe used. But above all at no price does Leica offer a good camera. Maybe Leica should just make lens. Their best camera is the M7. "If you have to ask how much..."
It's bought BTW not brought

suedezu: This looks like a winner for Canon: HIGHLY improved image quality according to the resolution charts, improved weather sealing, lighter than the original 24-70. Can't wait to see some reviews!
I use the 24-70 on my 5D Mark II and I don't mind the lack of IS. I also have a sharp copy with good image quality at all focal lengths.
One question: does the new version extend when zoomed?
PS If I'm not mistaken the launch price is identical to the original 24-70 MSRP price. Can anyone confirm this?
the fact that the zoom is retracted at 24mm in the picture kinda gives the anwer away lol

h00ligan: Weight of the mount + nex 5n can't possibly be much less than a t3... Which would cost a lot less. I own canon and nex systems..and find this overpriced and pointless. But I also own all l glass, which is really too big for the nex anyway..insomuch as I wouldn't want to use it given it defeats the point of a light kit.
The camera body is not the weight block in my canon kit.
and how do you go about adjusting the aperture on EF lenses with a T3.....

MisterBG: Looking at the typical tourists around London, I'd say camera usage matches that noted by Jonathan F/2. Lots of DSLR and P&S/Phone cams with the occasional m4/3. Personally, I prefer to have my cameras made by a company known for its photographic and optical products, rather than its TV's and Microwaves.
yes photocopiers makes more sense than TV's

photonion: DSLR is a relic of the past. Period. We got rid of the film, time to get rid of the mirror. Some of the arguments here remind me the days when people would say that film will never die, digital is for amateurs etc... Gentlemen life moves on, technology moves on, so keep in mind that probably some of you were arguing some years ago that film would never die...
not really true is it. these mirrorless cameras are for me too small. they don't have the balance or the size that I feel comfortable with. Sure if you want a small body with a large lens then these are the way to go. AFAIK only the new panasonic 14-28 pancake zoom is small enough to make sense with these cameras.
I like image quality first and APS-C sensors just don't cut it.

Chris Tofalos: "Professional standards made simple..."
Is that so? There's no EVF! I can't see any serious photographer, let alone a professional, keen to use a camera waved at arms length all the time.
Sony have shown the way to go, what their users clearly want, with an incredible super hi-ires EVF in the NEX-7. The NX200 is virtually a complete waste of time without one; a white elephant!
yes because holding a camera to the eye makes all the difference when taking a picture.
"professional standards made simple" does not imply anything to do with the type pf photographer rather than the quality and function of the camera.

simon65: The PowerShot G1 X is available from late February, priced at £699.00/€799.00/$799.99 RRP.
£1 = USD 1.54
£699.00 = USD 1,076
Yep, looks like the Great British public are about to get royally screwed again.
@ increments
since VAT was 15% between 1 december 2008 and 31st december 2009 you can therefore be no older than 2 lol
HiRez: Is it one of those "If you have to ask, you can't afford it" kind of things?
The MSRP is £799
shaocaholica: Why would you want this over the Sigma 18-250?
why would you want any of these 10x zooms. they are all pretty rubbish
jaja_m: It came. Fuglyfilm X-S1...

Pati Feroolz: 1/4th the area of an aps-c sensor. useless.

sweet a apoint and click interchangeable lens camera.
