The folks shooting with an F65 are not using consumer lenses. Ever. They are using PL mount glass. Look up the prices, they are amazing.....That sensor is also optimized exclusively for motion...

Most of the HD consumer videocams have a 10x or 11x zoom lens, regardless of manufacturer. Sony is simply extending that to the large sensor market/arena.

Sony does - look up the Sony PMW- F3 or NEX-FS100. But those are full-on professional videocams. These are intended to be more general purpose video+stills cameras.
