Interesting in conclusion DPreview determine that D800 has the upper hand in the Movie/Video Mode over the 5D MarkIII performance. In the same time the reputable TIPA ( Technical Image Press Association ) awarded the Canon 5D MarkIII as the Best Video Digital SLR for 2012 .....!!!!!
The blue version looks like a Honda V4 Concept motorbike ...truly striking !
barb_s: Yes!!!! my favorite. Perfect illustration of mother. I wasn't going to vote in this challenge but I saw this photo and had to give it a boost. It's the cutest ever and so well framed too. I haven't fallen in love with a photo in a looong time but this one tugged at my heart.
Glad to know you like it my friend...and thank you kindly for your lovely comments! Appreciated!
Thank you Jezsik
BlackZero: Splendid Photograph.
Thanks BlackZero ...appreciated!
Great capture indeed ! Well done!
Thank you LeeStar & Nathaniel :) Appreciated!
disappointing ...I would say at that sensitivity !Even the small thumbnail reveals plenty of noise! The 24 mp Nikon ...pardon ....Sony, sensor obviously struggles here ...lets rather go for the more modest G1 X for this kind of images ...
liya: love love love this photo! beautiful
Thank you Liya ...this is a special image for me. I am still waiting for my son to come home ....
Peace On Earth: awesome
Thank you!
ms18: Good..
thank you!
Clearly the black cap of the Baileys bottle on right gives a fine indication how the different cameras handle the color noise. Push the ISO to 800 for example and have a look the area around the " imported " sign. The New MarkIII clearly showing an advantage here, followed by the old and still great MarkII, despite the use of that cheap $90 lens in comparison with the $500 Nikon 85mm f/1.8G lens !!! Surely the superior lens in this comparison ! What about that for a start??? Then if you replace the Sony with the heavyweight Pentax 645D and look the same part of the frame then you can appreciate even further the enormous achievement of the new and the old full frame Canons! Bea ......utiful !
D800 reminds me of the automaker Audi ! Desperately trying to convince the audience how their cars are better than the competition from Bavaria ! Unnecessary surgery, shark attack, scrofula. These are just some of things I would rather endure than a D800! This is a camera for the kind of chap who takes his wife for a dinner and then flirts with the waitress all night. Good! Ha ha ha ..remember the time not long ago when the Nikon users desperately tried to persuade us that a 12MP camera is all we need ! Now a 22 MP Canon seems lost in time ...Right ...he he...OK...OK if you do not believe on those samples as part of the DP preview go and find solace at some Nikon lovers club .... share your pain...you'll feel better!
Great ...have a look please the shadow detail of the black bottle in the middle or in fact any shadow detail in the frame ...Push the ISO above 800 in RAW and compare the results....WOW the Mark III manages the color noise with subtle finesse ! That difference is even visible at ISO400 in some mid shadows. Brilliant punchy crisp detail and colors as well! Impressive hardware !Bravo Canon!
Well folks the D800, shows great results no doubt about that. In my opinion it has managed to mach the image quality of 5D MarkII specially at higher ISO settings. Impressive! And on top of that we have a camera which has mind blowing count of megapixels ...Right! So, this can be useful for heavy cropping! Then in terms of image quality both cameras performs equally well. Bravo! The new Canon 5D MarkIII, however will prove the unavoidable...and that better performance than the previous model in low light ...probably twice at least, which is what most of the Canon users like me are waiting for. Lets wait for the In-depth Review of the both cameras to see which one is the real King in terms of image quality! I am smiling already .... Canon ...you can!
Absolutely brilliant indeed!
Fantastic shadow and highlights detail! Brilliant color gamut , clarity and perfect moderate sharpness! Bravo Canon!
Great ..great performance ....just watch that space! It is strangely quite here after the loud criticism from left and right this morning! Soon will be official...the new KING is here!!!!Canon 5D MarkIII is a worthy successor of the old camera and clearly far more special than most of us can imagine.
Canon ...you can ...absolutely spectacular for ISO51200! Bravo!
That's a fantastic shot my friend! Well done!
