RuthC: Congratulations, George Veltchev, on your very popular win in this 'Harmony of Colours in Nature' challenge. This image glows! The colours are really beautiful, from the warm russet browns and oranges to the cool shady greens. The soft background enhances the alert, sharply defined impala. A really beautiful capture. Ruth :-)

Thank you Ruth for the most wonderful comments !

Surprisingly similar in every way to the Kodak Pixpro AZ522 released last year ... the same pea bean like size sensor, the same optical zoom, features and shape ... extraordinary way to bring some life into a failed project ... Bravo Ricoh ... Bravo Pentax !

jaykumarr: this shot is combination of photog skill & best lens & timing (no not just 1/4000s but the monkey). The lighting under the monkey is kind of surprise to me..

Thank you mate ... the shadows on the monkey's belly has been lifted in PC6 slightly indeed !

George Veltchev: Come on guys ... the 'studio comparison' reveals that this 1' sensor battles with the noise as early as ISO200 ( just look the shadows at this settings ) ..ISO200 I am talking about !!!! WOW ...and on top of that this mediocre Leica lens is as soft as a poppy marshmallow on a hotplate, killing the detail even in the center of the frame, never mind the corners ... take it to the beach in summer, between 10:00am and 2:00pm, keep the ISO at 125 and you'll be happy as a scamp with new white leather shoes...... not bad for a lovely tight package with the modest $900 I guess !

ya ... the comparison looks a bit like the game between Brazil and Germany on the quarter finals yesterday ... humiliating !

Check for yourself mate ... the studio comparison is there for a reason .... keep the FZ1000 at ISO200 and put it next to the 6D for example at ISO3200 and compare the detail between the both anywhere across the frame, then you will see how clumsy this Laica lens actually is ... a mediocre package for a good $900 !

On What is equivalence and why should I care? article (1997 comments in total)
In reply to:

Sdaniella: given objectives are with:
identical subject in a given lighting situation
at identical distance (identical perspective: aov on subject and background)
with identical composition (framing fov)
identical aperture diameters (if available)
for identical dof

So, ...
what systems can do what others cannot:

what systems can do the same things (but in more compact formats)

identical overlaps in common tell us what's doable in different systems
where IQ varies according to different size of system for the same objectives above

what's not doable, that's only available in larger and wider systems (larger aperture diameters) is where one may seek it in larger systems if not possible in smaller systems not as wide (too tele)

publishing:
actual aperture diameters
and
angles (horizontal, vertical, diagonal)
is key for cross platform comparison of what's available vs unavailable

I hope dpr/mfrs are more up front about it in their specs, and claims

WOW ...Hm ...you are spectacular Sdaniella .... how did you managed to explain the issue so well, so flawlessly and simply ingeniously with so little efforts ..thank you !

George Veltchev: the face of disappointment has a new name ... Leica T !

with pleasure Eelco ..please, have a look the sample images taken at higher ISO ...seriously ... the noise level there is indistinguishable for the entry level DSLRs from the late 90's .... agree, even my old PowerShot G1 X I can do it better !!!
