Dang - some of you are harsh!
I'm happy to see some images from a pre-production sample of this lens, so thanks. Given Sigma's Art offerings of late, I'll be surprise if CA is a significant problem, and I'm hoping the lens is a gem.
I shoot with quality FF primes in this DX range, but I miss many opportunities when I'm swapping lenses, or scrabbling for a better perspective. For me, the image quality from the 50-100 will have to be superb to justify the weight and zooming advantage.
By the way - Amazon is currently listing the lens at $1500 in the US, while BHPV and others are listing it at $1095. I haven't known Amazon to gouge above MSRP, so I suspect their price is a mistake.
That's a pretty good list. Adding relevant PDF manuals to your phone can help in a pinch; also the phone's compass and ephemeris apps come along for the ride.
Beautiful image !
370mm! For your sake I hope the sensor was the size of a rice grain.
Nice image. Perhaps the shoreline isn't parallel to the sensor - the trees appear vertical.
Awesome shot - congratulations!
Oooh ahhhh - nice shot!
