I have the NEX 6. I rarely shoot video, but you can shoot video at iso 6400.
-
Definitely not. Portraits can be improved with a bit of softening. All photo editing will adversely affect detail. If the picture looks good do not sharpen.

Sorry, this whole "best camera" doesn't wash with me. I bought into the NEX system (NEX 6) because it promised the highest quality IQ, in the most compact size, in an interchangeable lens format,...

I shoot only raw with manual exposure---I use virtually no noise reduction till 1600, and then only a fraction---at 3200 noise because noticeable.
-
Very strange---The camera that got the highest review ratings of all milc's, the NEX-7, is not even on the list---No vote!!
-
shoot in raw of jpeg---might be tough to PP :-)
-
I have a NEX 6, I shoot mostly raw, only manual exposure, mostly manual focus, and post process in Lightroom. Both cameras are excellent-- the kit lens necessarily less so. Both cameras have the...

I bought the Nex-6. Never use the screen, only EVF, and if there is no way to turn off the screen than it's just a useless hassle.

Not sure what kind of photography you shoot (news, fashion, sports, weddings etc.) but I'll try and help. Raw image quality is as good as any midrange DSLR (aps-c). Auto focus can be slow...

There will likely be a new 7 next summer--probably relatively minor improvements--Could be a FF by 2014--- or is that wishful thinking:-)

lightroom 4 supports the 16-50

Actually it's better to slowly exhale when shooting---less tension, body more relaxed.
-
Not the camera, but the lens.

Yes the new 35mm nex lens is very expensive--probably too expensive. But then everything about mirrorless technology his more expensive than SLR. Quality for quality you're paying for size...
-
Unfortunatly nex zooms int the range you want (50mm +) are quite slow, 4.5 or more and not particularly useful for narrow DOF. You really do need a 50 mm 1.8 prime with the Nex for narrow DOF
-
Sony has a slight problem with over saturating. It the whites in your pictures are coming out true than that may be the problem. I don't know the 5n, but the Nex 6 has an in camera adjustment for...
-
PDAF-- comparing sigma 19 and the sony 16-50 in low light shows a much faster AF for the 16-50.
-
You are right---1600 on the Nex-6 with minimal if any processing--I try and avoid 3200.
-
Don't worry about what you didn't buy. The F3 is a good camera and 90 percent of photography is the photographer. As for new lenses--if you have a zoom, start shooting and see what you like. If...

For all those who worship the SLR--In less than 5 years, the optical viewfinder will be gone. An F-16 can shoot down a supersonic jet with out the pilot's visual contact. A bit more processing...
