  • When I wish to use the tilting LCD, the add-on rubber eyecup on the EVF covers part of the view.  Flipping the EVF up makes the LCD totally visible.  Also, with it up, the eye senor is not ...
  • Replied in GX7 kit lens
The Panasonic zooms have image stabilization which is better than that in the GX7 body.
  • Replied in A new 12-50mm
The best thing about the Oly 12-50mm is its focal range.  Other kit lenses are too short for me.  When Olympus replaces the E-M5 (which is rumoured to be soon), I hope they upgrade the 12-50mm to ...
  • Did you also consider the E-P5?  I am considering a Pen plus VF-4 and wondering if there are still any advantages to the P5 over the PL7.  By the way, as someone with very old eyes, I use ...
  • Does E-PL7 have  "0 sec" shutter shock fix?
  • Just having a camera with so many megapixels, so many fractions of an inch sensor, or a lens with a low f number doesn't necessarily imply high IQ.  Up to ISO 400 I doubt that any of the new P&S ...
  • It's premature to celebrate the Panasonic LX100 and Canon G7 X.  Little is known about the IQ due to sensor and lens.  In fact, someone over on the Canon PowerShot forum has looked at a downloaded ...

I am alarmed when owners refer to their "good copy" or "bad copy".  There is no quantitatve evidence, but from reading this forum I would be more wary buying Olympus than Panasonic.
  • Probably my age is more advanced than yours.  Being nearsighted and having worn glasses most my life, I have progressive lenses.  The top part corrected for infinity works great for the EVF while ...
  • My answer is no.  I find the tilting LCD of my GX7 preferable to the full  articulation of the G6 which I tried out.  I also preferred the tilting LCD on my compact Nikon P7100 to the fully ...
  • Pun intended.  At 100% notice the sharpness of the spines from edge to edge.
  • No, you're not nuts, you are correct.  It just seems that the people who test seem to give overriding importance to to how many shots they can take per second and minimal importance to the ...
  • Replied in Keep them both
The apparently small difference in focal length is deceptive.  I find the 25mm better for people by virtue of the focal length as well as the focusing speed.  However, the 20mm is better for all ...
  • Because I am taking my Panasonic 12-32mm zoom on a European vacation soon, I wished to find out if I have a good copy, and at the same time address the subject of this thread.  To this end I ...
  • The only thing I can think of that would cause this behavior is astigmatism in your eyes or in the viewfinder optics.   My GX7 doesn't have this problem.
  • "They" are Nikon Rumours and this forum.  Nikon has said nothing at all.  Probably Nikon will announce something at Photokina, but I'm not trying  to guess what it will be.
  • The camera you describe is the Sony RX10, a much larger and more expensive camera than the P7800.  I instead am hoping for a P7900 that just puts a faster processor in the P7800.
  • Innovation is not bad.  But quality control is even more important.  I recently expanded my kit to include an M43 camera.  One of the main laments on the M43 forum is decentered lenses. Everbody he ...
  • Replied in Thanks!
Now I've got that fixed, I like the GX7 just a little  bit more.
  • Unfortunately the setting affects both EVF and LCD simultaneously.  It would be preferable to apply it only to the EVF.
